Curtain wall system with anti-rolling shear block

A curtain wall has a plurality of hollow, extruded vertical and horizontal members. The members have a pair of spaced retainer walls which engage a shear block with a pair of tabs that twist locks onto the retainer walls before fastening the block to the member. A second member slips over the block and is fastened by screws. The abutment of the tabs limits rotation of the block and attached member, providing support for a glazing panel attached to the members. The members have longitudinal recesses accommodating wiring that may be covered with a cover. A bracket interacting with the retainer walls like a shear block may also be used.

Integrated Solar Energy Curtain Wall System

A pultrusion fiber reinforced polymer (PFRP) structural building assembly comprises a PFRP floor assembly, which has a top surface, a bottom surface, and at least one side surface surrounding the top surface and the bottom surface. At least one PFRP flange is connected to the at least one side surface of the PFRP floor assembly and extending away from the PFRP floor assembly. The PFRP flange is configured to encircle a vertical PFRP piling. A flexible epoxy bonds together components of the PFRP structural building assembly, wherein the flexible epoxy is configured to provide a uniform coefficient of thermal expansion throughout the PFRP structural building assembly.

Curtain wall system accommodating wiring

A system includes a structural member providing front and back faces, and first and second webs extending between the front and back faces and laterally offset from each other to define a hollow space therebetween. A wire transfer channel is defined at an end of the first web adjacent the front face and extends into the hollow space. A shear block provides a base, a connector portion extending from the base in a first direction, and first and second legs extending from the base in a second direction opposite the first direction, wherein the first and second legs are attachable to the first web to couple the shear block to the structural member.

Building facade system and method of forming a building facade

A building facade system which comprises an anchor. The anchor having a flange extending in a first horizontal direction and serrations along a portion thereof. A vertical mullion being held in shear and secured by shear connection to the anchor to support horizontal members forming a frame for supporting a building facade panel. The shear connection formed by a fastener coupling the anchor to an outside lateral surface of the vertical mullion. The fastener extending in the second horizontal direction through the anchor and the vertical mullion. The angle member having first and second flanges having proximal ends joined together and opposing terminal ends. The second flange being engageable with the flange of the anchor by way of a vertically-oriented coupling securing the flange of the anchor and the angle member. The angle member being securable to a building floor slab and supporting the anchor thereon.

A clip angle bracket with reduced thermal conductance saves energy when used in structures such as a curtain wall assembly. The clip angle bracket includes a first curtain wall having a substantially flat surface. A second curtain wall has a substantially flat surface and is arranged at an angle relative to the first curtain wall. A hinge portion has a first end connected to the first curtain wall and a second end connected to the second curtain wall. The clip angle bracket is constructed of a carbon-reinforced fiber polymer (CRFP).
