Framing assembly

A framing assembly has at least one rafter vent assembly having a connecting member with a plurality of vent tubes for providing supplemental ventilation and additional structural support to a frame of a building structure. The at least one rafter vent assembly may be an interior rafter vent assembly or an exterior rafter vent assembly. The interior rafter vent assembly has at least one brace member and a connecting member, with the connecting member having a connecting plate, two end plates, and the plurality of vent tubes. The exterior rafter vent assembly has the connecting member that has a connecting plate and the plurality of vent tubes. The framing assembly also preferably has a plurality of modified structural insulated panels (SIPs) and modified rafter splines.

ROOF PANEL SYSTEM

The present disclosure provides systems, apparatuses, and methods relating to roof construction. In some embodiments, a roof panel system may include a prefabricated horizontal building frame and a prefabricated roof panel structure. The horizonal building frame component may include a plate having a first aperture. The prefabricated roof panel structure may include two parallel lateral structural members and two parallel transverse structural members, one of the transverse structural members having a second aperture. The system may further include a fastener assembly connecting the horizontal building frame component to the roof panel structure through the first and second apertures.

MODIFIED PURLIN CLIP AND KEY SLOTTED PURLIN SYSTEM

A system for assembling continuous overlapping purlins into position upon a plurality of roof beams without having to remove fasteners securing a first installed purlin into position. The system includes a purlin clip with a lower flange and an upper flange. The second purlin overlapping the first purlin, the first and second purlins each comprising first and second longitudinally disposed ends and at least one keyhole disposed within each longitudinally disposed end. The purlin clip is mounted with fasteners to a roof beam proximate the second end of the first purlin and a primary fastener is passed through the at least one keyhole of the first purlin into the secondary fastener, wherein the primary fastener is not fully received into the secondary fastener and remains available for hanging thereon of the keyhole in the first end of the second purlin.

Valley truss tie

A valley truss tie for connecting a valley truss to an underlying support truss of a roof has a front plate and a back plate connected to the front plate so the front and back plate are adjacent one another. The valley truss tie also has a fastener guidance system for holding fasteners at prescribed angles relative to the front and back plate as the fasteners are driven through the valley truss tie into the underlying support truss. The fastener guidance system has a first set of convex projections extending from a side of the front plate opposite the back plate, a second set of convex projections extending from a side of the back plate opposite the front plate, and openings in the convex projections for guiding the fasteners through the front and back plates.

In the invention, each beam is formed of an elongate metal sheet folded through a right angle about at least one longitudinally extending line to define at least a horizontal first plate, and a vertical second. A plurality of separately formed sheet metal brackets are secured to at least one of the plates of the folded metal sheet at preset distances from one another along the length of the beam and secured to the ends of the studs.

In various embodiments, the method of setting the truss may include sliding the truss setting bracket over a desired location next to a first truss, lifting the first truss towards a second truss, and removably locking the truss setting bracket to a desired location next to the second truss.

Purlin construction and mounting system for flat roof structures

A purlin mounting system for use in a flat roof structure includes a purlin with a flat mounting wall and an upright wall extending perpendicularly from the mounting wall. First and second mounting shelves are attached to the upright wall and extend outwardly in opposite directions. Each mounting wall is positioned to receive an edge of a roof section thereon. The flat mounting wall and the upright wall define a vertical mounting channel extending from a lower surface of the flat mounting wall a distance less than the distance of the first and second mounting shelves from the mounting wall. A purlin positioning and mounting device is designed to be attached to a roof beam and includes a vertically extending support wall designed to extend upwardly from a supporting roof beam when attached to the supporting roof beam and to nest within the mounting channel.

A rotary strut could also be used to replace an existing strut.
