Gypsum panels, systems, and methods

Gypsum panels, sheathing systems, and methods of making and using the same are provided. A gypsum panel includes a gypsum core associated with a first fiberglass mat having a continuous barrier coating, the coating penetrating a portion of the first fiberglass mat opposite the gypsum core, wherein gypsum penetrates a remaining fibrous portion of the first fiberglass mat such that voids in the first fiberglass mat are substantially eliminated. A building sheathing system includes at least two gypsum panels and a seaming component to provide a seam at an interface between the gypsum panels.

METHOD FOR TIGHTENING A SCREW FOR FASTENING A CONSTRUCTION PANEL TO A SUPPORT
20220032411 · 2022-02-03 ·

A method for tightening a screw for fastening a construction panel to a support of the construction panel, in which the fastening screw is screwed through the construction panel and then through at least part of the support, includes a monitoring of a change over time of a tightening torque of the fastening screw, with determination of a first maximum torque value and then of a second minimum torque value, and after determination of the second minimum torque value, a stoppage of the tightening of the fastening screw for a torque value, termed stoppage value, corresponding to a third maximum torque value or being determined after an occurrence of a third maximum torque value.

SYSTEM, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR GYPSUM BOARD WITH EMBEDDED STRUCTURE HAVING OPEN CELLS THAT ARE SUBSTANTIALLY FILLED
20170225426 · 2017-08-10 ·

A gypsum panel has a gypsum body with a length L along an x-axis, a width W along a y-axis, and a thickness T along a z-axis. The gypsum body includes at least one core embedded at least partially within the gypsum body. Examples of the core include a hollow, open cell structure having walled elements. The walled elements have axes that can be substantially parallel to each other and the z-axis. The walled elements may be substantially filled with a same material as the gypsum body.

STUCCO SUPPORT STRUCTURES AND STUCCO WALLS

Stucco support structures and stucco wall systems incorporating the stucco support structures are provided. The stucco support structure includes a structural layer of composite material. The composite material includes a homogenous matrix of a gypsum material and a polymer resin material, and wet-use chopped strand fibers that are filamentized within the homogenous matrix. The stucco support structure also includes a stucco adhesion member interfaced with the structural layer that is configured to receive and bond a stucco material to the structural layer. The stucco support structure eliminates the need for sheathing and wire mesh lath conventionally used in stucco applications.

UTILITY MATERIALS INCORPORATING A MICROPARTICLE MATRIX FORMED WITH A SETTING AGENT

A composition, utility material, and method of making a utility material is disclosed. A composition having an improved setting time may include a plurality of microparticles mixed with a sodium silicate binder and an isocyanate setting agent, where the microparticle composition has a setting time of less than or equal to one hour. A utility material may be a wallboard that includes the composition.

Actuator and method of manufacture thereof

An actuator for controlling the operation of an apparatus comprises a panel (16) and an acoustic sensor (26). The panel provides a partition within a building structure, while the acoustic sensor is adapted to detect acoustic waves propagating through the panel. When a user exerts pressure against the panel, the sensor detects the acoustic waves that are formed and emits signals for controlling the operation of an apparatus, such as a doorbell, a light source, a television, a sound system, a ventilation system, a window blind, a radio or an alarm.

GYPSUM PANELS, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS

Gypsum panels, methods for their manufacture, and systems and methods for monitoring environmental conditions with such panels are provided herein. The panels include a gypsum core having a first surface and an opposed second surface, a first facer material associated with the first surface of the gypsum core, and an environmental sensor assembly associated with the gypsum panel and configured to detect an environmental condition of the gypsum panel and wirelessly communicate data on the environmental condition to a reader.

Method and apparatus for creasing facing material used in the manufacture of wallboard
09758965 · 2017-09-12 · ·

Aspects of this disclosure relate to a method of manufacturing wallboard which includes providing a first layer of facing material, creasing the first layer facing material intermittently to create a series of creased portions, providing a gypsum slurry on the first layer of facing material and providing a second layer of facing material over the gypsum slurry. Further, creasing the first layer of facing material intermittently can include intermittently creasing the first layer of facing material in a substantially linear fashion extending in a first direction of the first layer of facing material so that the first layer of facing material exhibits a linear series of creased portions extending in the first direction of the first layer of facing material and a series of portions that are not creased extending in the first direction of the first layer of facing material.

Antifungal Wallboards

A wallboard comprising a gypsum core and a facing layer, containing a fungicidally effective amount of thiabendazole (TBZ) and 2-butyl-1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one (BBIT).
