A hollow core door for preventing pressure build up in a room having a forced air system includes an outer stile and rail frame, an inside skin having an opening secured to the outer frame, an outer skin having an opening secured to the outer frame, and a core assembly, which may be prefabricated, including a core assembly frame, a center panel disposed within the core assembly frame, openings extending through the center panel adjacent to the core assembly frame, spacers adjacent to the core frame to space the core assembly apart from the inside and outside skins, and the core assembly is disposed within the outer frame, whereby air flows through the opening in the inside skin, along the center panel, through the openings in the center panel, along the center panel and outwardly through the opening in the outside skin in a non-linear manner to prevent pressure build up in a room in which the door is installed to comply with the Department of Energy maximum recommended pressure of three pascals or less. Different types of spacers are disclosed. A method for making the hollow core door is disclosed.

TORSION BOX PANEL ASSEMBLY WITH COMPACT CONVEYANCE CONFIGURATION
20190136506 · 2019-05-09 ·

A torsion box panel assembly includes a plurality of sub-panels each having a skin secured to a core, and a plurality of hinges each coupled between a different pair of the sub-panels such that each sub-panel is foldable relative to an adjacent sub-panel along a respective hinge. The hingedly-coupled sub-panels together form a base panel having an expanded configuration in which each hinge is closed and the surfaces of the sub-panel skins are substantially co-planar. The base panel, in its expanded configuration, has a planar panel surface defined, at least in part, by the combination of the co-planar sub-panel skins. At least one stabilizing member is secured to the planar panel surface and spans all of the closed hinges to lock the sub-panels together to form a torsion box panel.

Honeycomb panel structure

A honeycomb panel structure is presented. The honeycomb panel structure may comprise a first panel region and a first plurality of pins welded to the first panel region. The first panel region may comprise an incline face sheet and a bottom face sheet, wherein the incline face sheet may be at an acute angle to the bottom face sheet. The honeycomb panel structure may be compressed in the first panel region, a first pin of the first plurality of pins may be perpendicular to the incline face sheet, and a second pin of the first plurality of pins may be perpendicular to the bottom face sheet.

Method and system for interconnecting structural panels

Building or structural panels may be joined, such as to form walls or floors. The panels may be connected in various orientations via one or more connectors. The connectors may mount to anchors associated with the panels. The panels may have outer skins located over an expanded core comprising a matrix of supporting elongate members and voids or openings, with the anchors located at edges of the panels.
