Apparatus and Methods For Connecting Timber Flanges
20190161957 · 2019-05-30 ·

A method and apparatus for constructing a single story or multistory building using timber as a major structural material. The apparatus includes a connector plate having a series of pins extending therefrom. In a building component, each pin engages with a relatively small diameter timber flange by way of an axial bore hole formed in each flange. In this way, the flanges form a timber structural member useful in the formation of a framework of a building structure. The plate of the connector provides a fastener for fastening to other similar connectors or to other building structures. Various combinations of connectors and building flanges may be used to construct a single story building, and furthermore may be used in the construction of a multistory building.

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING GLUE LAMINATED TIMBER COLUMNS
20190126508 · 2019-05-02 ·

A method of manufacturing glue laminated timber columns involves forming a glue laminated timber panel and then cutting the glue laminated timber panel into a selected number of glue laminated timber columns. The method provides a substantial saving compared to a custom mass timber column.

On-job-site method of and system for providing class-A fire-protection to wood-framed buildings during construction
10267034 · 2019-04-23 · ·

A method of and system for on-job-site spray coating of clean fire inhibiting liquid chemical (CFIC) liquid all over the exposed interior surfaces of raw and treated lumber, sheathing and wood used in a completed section of a wood-framed assemblies in a wood-framed building during its construction phase. The system includes a liquid spray pumping subsystem having a reservoir tank for holding a supply of the CFIC liquid; and a hand-held liquid spray nozzle for spraying the CFIC liquid from the reservoir tank, over the exposed interior wood surfaces of lumber and sheathing used in a completed section of a wood-framed assembly in a wood-framed building during construction phase. The CFIC-coated wood surfaces suppress fire ignition and suppression by interfering with free radicals (H+, OH, O) produced during the combustion phase of a fire.

Methods of designing and constructing Class-A fire-protected multi-story wood-framed buildings

A method of and system for designing and constructing high-density multi-story wood-framed buildings, and Class-A fire-protected building components, and methods and factories for producing the same in an economical manner. An on-job-site method is provided for treating wood-framed buildings so that such wood-framed buildings demonstrate Class-A fire-protection and improved defense against total fire destruction.

PROCESS FOR SHAPING A REINFORCING OR STRUCTURAL MATERIAL FOR EXTRUDING/MOLDING OPERATIONS
20190105798 · 2019-04-11 · ·

An assembly and related process for producing a structural article from a naturally occurring organic material and which includes the steps of conveying a plurality of lengths of the naturally occurring material through a coating operation in order to apply a non-activated adhesive, following which the coated materials are transferred to a succeeding forming operation for shaping and solidifying into a reformed cross sectional shape suitable for a structural application. Additional steps include the naturally occurring organic material further including any of, burlap, bamboo, bamboo strips, cane stalks, corn stalks, palm leaves, and reeds. A catalyst ingredient is provided for coating the materials, the catalyst optionally being incorporated into the adhesive.

Cellulose-based structural flooring panel assembly

A timber structural member includes: a first timber round having a first cooperating longitudinal surface, a second timber round having a second and a third cooperating longitudinal surfaces, and a third timber round having a fourth cooperating longitudinal surface. The first cooperating surface cooperates with the second cooperating surface, and the third cooperating surface cooperates with the fourth cooperating surface. The timber rounds are secured together to form a structurally integral unit in which the first cooperating surface is in contact with the second cooperating surface, and the third cooperating surface is in contact with the fourth cooperating surface, and the first, second and third timber rounds are substantially parallel to each other. The timber rounds are secured to each other by a plurality of spaced fasteners provided at acute and obtuse angles from a longitudinal axis of the structural member and extending through the timber rounds.

WALL FRAMING SYSTEM
