Drywall Spacing Joist Hanger
A connection utilizing a joist hanger to hang a joist or beam from a wood structural support member such as a top plate or header in cooperation with a first plurality of fasteners such as screws or nails and one or more substantially vertical fire-resistant panels such as drywall.
Gluelam structural member and a method of producing such a gluelam structural member
The present disclosure provides a structural member (10), such as a beam, a stud or a joist, presenting a predetermined bending direction (B). The structural member comprises a plurality of glued-together wood lamellae (20a, 20b), each having a lamella cross section which is parallel with a cross section of the structural member (10) and a longitudinal direction which is parallel with a longitudinal direction of the structural member and with a principal grain direction of the wood lamellae (20a, 20b). In the structural member, the lamellae (20a, 20b) are formed as radial sections of a log and present cross sections which are triangular or trapezoidal and present a respective base surface (bs1) that is formed at a radially outer part of the log. The lamellae (20a, 20b) are arranged as at least one layer in which base surfaces (bs1) of a pair of immediately adjacent lamellae (20a, 20b) face opposite directions. The base surfaces (bs1) are perpendicular to the bending direction (B).
Joist Shielding Assembly
A joist shielding assembly for preventing water from damaging joists includes a pair of deflectors that is configured to position singly over upper edges of adjacently positioned joists, such as in a deck. Each deflector is configured to direct water laterally from a respective adjacently positioned joist so that the water is prevented from contacting the respective adjacently positioned joist. Indicia are coupled to the pair of deflectors. Respective indicia are configured to guide placement of a deck plank so that the deck plank is positioned to couple perpendicularly to the adjacently positioned joists.
Integral truss plate connector
A connection is formed between a held member and a holding member with the use of a connector and one or more fasteners. In one aspect, the connector has a main body that has integral nail prong fasteners. In one aspect, the main body of the connector is attached to the held and holding members by means of double-shear fastening. In one aspect, the main body is formed with a bendable end flange to attach the connector to the holding member. In one aspect, the main body is formed with a nail guide for directing the fastener at an angle to the main body.
Deck preservation system
A deck preservation system includes an elongated one-piece deck board cap top cover for a deck board, adapted for a secure coupling to a top surface of the deck board to cover the top surface; a first cap side, with at least one first fin, integrally formed with the top cover and extended downwardly and adapted for a secure coupling to a board side of the deck board; a second cap side, with at least one second fin, integrally formed with the top cover and extended downwardly and adapted for a secure coupling to a board side of the deck board; wherein the first cap side and the second cap side are opposed to one another; and an inverted channel profile integrally formed and defined by the deck board top cover and first and second cap sides to cover and protect the deck board.
RESTRAINED JOINT APPARATUS, USES OF, AND METHODS FOR MAKING, THE SAME
A restrained joint apparatus, applications of the apparatus, and methods for making the apparatus are described. The apparatus is a wood-frame coupling that establishes the restrained joint with movement resistance and moment resistance of a wood member coupled with a frame. The frame includes a body with a wall. The frame can be a unitary structure wherein the wall of the body is arranged to replace an outer perimeter of the end of the wood member so that the wood member and the frame form the wood-frame coupling. In another embodiment, the frame is formed of a plurality of frame plates joined together about the perimeter of the wood member. The invention includes various applications for the wood-frame coupling where a restrained joint is useful such as in an EMC composite member configuration. The invention includes a method of making the wood-frame coupling wherein the first described is forced onto and into the end of the wood member.
Drywall spacing joist hanger
A connection utilizing a joist hanger to hang a joist or beam from a wood structural support member such as a top plate or header in cooperation with a first plurality of fasteners such as screws or nails and one or more substantially vertical fire-resistant panels such as drywall.
