Wood-based material insulated for combustion resistance
A fire retardant article has a wood-based material with a polyisocyanurate foam article attached thereto, where the polyisocyanurate foam article covers 90% or more of the exposed portion of the wood-based material, has a thickness greater than 1.8 centimeters, a foam core having a density of 28-128 kg/m.sup.3, a trimer concentration characterized by at least one of (i) a trimer level in a range of 12-25 weight-percent and (ii) a molar ratio of trimer to sum of urethane and urea in a range of 1-8, a phosphorous concentration of at least 0.3 wt %, a combined concentration of phosphorous and bromine of at least 0.5 wt %, and a vapor permeable and non-combustible facer on at least one primary surface of the foam core.
Modular system and kit for the dry building of structures for constructions, as well as a building method thereof
A modular system for the dry building of structures for constructions, such as walls, floors, balconies, roofs or the like, includes a plurality of planar modular beams that define a respective plane and that are mutually jointed, and a plurality of planar panels anchored thereto at least at or in proximity of the end portions of the same planar modular beams.

Fire barrier building product and method and system for making same
Methods and processes for depositing a fire resistant barrier on a construction material involve coating exposed webbing of, for instance, an I-joist with a fire-resistant material using a wetting layer and a thickening layer. A time period between depositing the wetting layer and thickening layer is controlled to facilitate complete wetting of the exposed webbing. Filler such as fiberglass may be included in the thickening layer. The wetting and thickening layers may be deposited on the webbing in the same application. The construction material, such as the I-joist, may then be subjected to a curing treatment and additional curing period followed by coating the second side using a similar methodology.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF PLATING STRUCTURAL MEMBERS
Plating systems and related methods are disclosed for prepping of structural members, such as splicing and/or pre-plating structural members. A plating system can include a splicing system and a pre-plating system. A splicing system include an infeed system, an outfeed system, and a press to affix or otherwise secure a plate to opposing surfaces of structural members to splice the structural members together. Guides are automatically positioned to guide short members through the splicing system. A pre-plating system includes a press, an infeed system configured to deliver a structural member to the press, and an outfeed system configured to remove the structural member from the press. The press is configured to secure a plate to the structural member on a surface other than the opposing surfaces used to splice the structural members together. A plate picking robot is configured to pick a plate from a plate container and position the plate on a press surface.

Structural member having paired flanges and web
A structural member comprising a first round flange, a second round flange substantially parallel to the first round flange, an elongate web disposed between the first and second round flange, the web having an upper edge, and a lower edge, wherein the first round flange, the second round flange and the elongate web are secured together to form a structurally integral unit. The structural member may further comprise a third round flange and a fourth round flange substantially parallel to the third round flange, wherein the round flanges and the elongate web are secured together to form a structurally integral unit in which the first face of the web is in contact with the first round flange and the third round flange, and the second face of the web is in contact with the second round flange and the fourth round flange.

REINFORCED STUD-FRAMED WALL
A reinforced stud-framed wall, including a bottom plate; first and second vertical studs; a member supported on the bottom plate, the member having a compression strength greater than a compression strength of the bottom plate; the first vertical stud having a bottom end supported on the member with a first contact area, whereby a load on the first contact area is spread over a first area on the bottom plate larger than the first contact area; and the second vertical stud having a bottom end supported on the member with a second contact area, whereby a load on the second contact area is spread over a second area on the bottom plate larger than the second contact area.
ADHESIVE AND RELEASE LINER APPLICATION SYSTEM
An adhesive and release liner application system and method. A bottom table is slidable with respect to a frame and a middle table is slidable with respect to the bottom table. An elevator drive subsystem between a top table and the middle table is configured to adjust the elevation of the top table relative to the middle table. An adhesive head, connected to an adhesive supply subsystem, a release liner applicator, a release liner cutter, and a staple gun are mounted to the top table for applying the adhesive to a surface of a structural member positioned adjacent the top table, for applying a release liner over the adhesive on the surface, for inserting at least one staple through the release liner and into the surface, and for cutting the release liner.
