The flow-reduction element may comprise at least one baffle, screen or mesh. The spark absorbing system may further include a spark ramp extending from the cap opposite the spark capture unit and/or a shield, which may define a cutting space between the shield and the cap.
APPARATUS FOR REPAIRING A TENSION MEMBER
An assembly for use with a post-tensioning tension member may comprise an anchor body; an anchor encapsulation including rear and front encapsulation extensions; a rear nut coupled to the rear encapsulation extension; a cap coupled to the front encapsulation extension and including a cap extension; a cover extending around a portion of the tension member, the cover being tubular and having proximal and remote end portions; a coupler coupled to both the cap extension and the proximal end portion; and a remote nut coupled to the remote end portion. The assembly may further include a rear seal positioned between the rear encapsulation extension and the tension member; a front seal positioned between the cap extension and the tension member; a proximal seal positioned between the proximal end portion and the tension member; and a remote seal positioned between the remote end portion and the tension member.
APPARATUS FOR REPAIRING A TENSION MEMBER
A sheathing repair assembly for a tension member of a post-tensioning tendon, the tension member including a strand and a sheathing layer is disclosed. The sheathing repair assembly includes a repair tube having first and second end portions and a first sealing assembly. The first sealing assembly includes a first nut having a first frustoconical surface and a first forcing element adapted to cooperate with the first frustoconical surface so as to compress the first end portion of the repair tube. The sheathing repair assembly also includes a second sealing assembly having a second nut having a second frustoconical surface and a second forcing element adapted to cooperate with the second frustoconical surface so as to compress the second end portion of the repair tube.
INTERMEDIATE ANCHOR FOR A POST-TENSIONING TENDON
An anchor assembly for use on a tension member in a post-tensioning concrete application, the anchor assembly may comprise an encapsulated anchor body, the encapsulation defining front and rear encapsulation extensions, a rear nut engaging the rear encapsulation extension, a cap engaging the front encapsulation extension and having a cap extension, a front nut engaging the cap extension, wherein placement of a tension member in the anchor assembly results in definition of front and rear annular spaces, and front and rear seal positioned in the front and rear annular spaces, respectively. The seals may be split seals. A method includes positioning a tension member in the bore, decoupling the cap from the front encapsulation extension, positioning at least one wedge in the frustoconical inner chamber, recoupling the cap, decoupling the front and rear nuts; positioning a seal in each annular space, and recoupling the front and rear nuts.
Method and apparatus for performing field elongation measurements
An improved method and apparatus for evaluating post-tensioning tendons, where the apparatus uses a positioning head placed directly into the pocket and against the anchor without making contact with the wedges as the apparatus seats on the tendon. From this position the apparatus evaluates the tendon by marking, measuring the tendon, and/or determining its location with increased reliability and precision.
ROD DE-TENSIONING DEVICE AND METHODS OF OPERATING THE SAME
A rod detensioning unit including a gripping unit removal device that engages a gripping unit on a rod, a chair frame configured to engage a rod, a rod tensioning unit that applies tension to an external portion of the rod to remove load from the gripping unit, a load cell unit that measures a tension level applied to the rod by the tensioning unit, a plate gripping unit that engages the rod and secures the chair frame, rod tensioning unit, load cell and plate gripping unit to the rod, a drive unit that engages the gripping unit removal device, and an extension unit affixed to the external portion of the rod when the original external rod length is too short to accommodate the de-tensioning unit.
Concrete anchor with retainer
An anchor assembly for use with a tensioning strand includes an anchor body including a bore therethrough, the bore configured to receive the strand therethrough, an inner surface of the bore including a frustoconical wedge-receiving cavity, at least one frustoconical wedge including a strand-engaging inner surface and an anchor body engaging outer surface, the wedge being at least partially received in the wedge-receiving cavity, an encapsulating layer at least partially surrounding the anchor body, and a wedge retention disk mechanically coupled to the anchor body and positioned so as to prevent the wedge from fully exiting the wedge-receiving cavity. The wedge retention disk may be spaced apart from the anchor body such that the wedge can move axially with respect to the anchor body between a seated position in which the wedge engages the wedge-receiving cavity and an unseated position in which the wedge engages the wedge retention disk.
Tendon coupler
A coupler for connecting first and second tendons may comprise a body including first and second ends, a passageway therethrough and an access port; first and second wedges each configured to receive an end of the first and second tendons, respectively, each of the wedges being positioned in the passageway and oriented so as to resist withdrawal from the coupler of a tendon received therein; and first and second pistons positioned within the passageway proximate the first and second wedges, respectively; wherein the first and second pistons define a pressure chamber therebetween; wherein the pressure chamber is in fluid communication with the access port; and wherein the first and second pistons are configured to bear on the first and second wedges, respectively, and urge the first and second wedges apart in response to pressure in the pressure chamber.
MULTI-ANCHOR CONCRETE POST-TENSIONING SYSTEM
A system for use with a post-tensioning concrete anchor may comprise a connector anchor including a bore therethrough, the bore including a first frustoconical portion, the connector anchor adapted to bear on the post-tensioning concrete anchor, and a coupler.
