Barrier cable coupler
A barrier cable coupler for coupling two lengths of barrier cable comprises a coupler body including a threaded inner surface, a first end, and a second end; a fixed retaining collar having an outer surface and being retained to the first end of the coupler body, the fixed retaining collar including a tapered inner surface; one or more fixed end wedges positioned within the tapered inner surface of the fixed retaining collar; a tensioning retaining collar having an outer surface, the tensioning retaining collar positioned at least partially within the second end of the coupler body and including a tapered inner surface; one or more tensioning end wedges positioned within the tapered inner surface of the tensioning retaining collar; and a tensioning nut including a threaded outer surface engaging the threaded inner surface of the second end of the coupler body and retaining the tensioning retaining collar therein.
Marking System & Method For Use In Concrete Anchors
The present invention provides for a marking system for use in concrete anchors, wherein the system is comprised of a setting tool with a rib to contact the anchor. Upon contact, the setting tool and the rib abrade a surface of the anchor and simultaneously create a score mark in order to indicate to the user of the concrete anchor that said anchor has been properly set. The entire anchor can also be pre-dipped into a lubricating substance to further facilitate the setting of the anchor.
IPrestressing cable, in particular for static structures
The invention relates to a prestressing cable (1), in particular for static structures, said cable being provided with a longitudinal element (1′) and connection elements (2) at the end faces of said element. The longitudinal element (1′) has a plurality of stranded wires, the end faces of which are anchored into the connection elements (2). The prestressing cable (1) is composed of multiple approximately parallel strands (3a, 3b, 3c), each of which comprises multiple stranded wires (7). The wires (7) are spread apart at their end faces in the funnel-shaped opening (5) of the respective connection element (2) and anchored by a casting process, wherein the frustum-shaped funnel widens away from the strands (3a, 3b, 3c). The straight arrangement of multiple strands results in particular in the significant improvement of the properties relating to vibrational loads even with wires of high strength.
STUD WELDABLE REBAR
A stud weldable rebar includes a steel bar comprised of a material composition confirming to ASTM 706 which extends along an axis A from a first end to a second end. The steel bar includes a base portion disposed adjacent the first end which has a base diameter D1 to define a base cross-sectional area of the base portion. The steel bar also includes an upset portion disposed adjacent the second end which has an upset diameter D2 being greater than said base diameter D1 to define an upset cross-sectional area of said upset portion. The material composition of the steel bar is restricted to a carbon equivalency between 0.31 and 0.43, and the upset cross-sectional area is approximately 13.5% to 22.5% greater than the base cross-sectional area to provide A706 rebar that surprisingly meets both the AWS D1.1 and ACI 318 standards after stud welding.
Cementitious foundation cap with post-tensioned helical anchors and method of making the same
A post-tensioned concrete cap foundation has helical anchors with pipes having several helical discs welded around the pipe perimeter to spin drill deep into subsurface soils or other soft materials with holes in the pipe for high pressure-grouting in place. The helical anchor pipes include a tensioning element for pulling and post-tensioning the helical anchor. The helical anchors are tension anchors which can be converted to compression anchors. The helical anchors in tension serve to pull the foundation cap down to compress the underlying soil while the compression anchors limit the maximum settlement of the concrete foundation cap. The foundation also includes perimeter-forming and interior corrugated metal pipes with upper and lower sleeved horizontally extending radial bolts that are secured to the pipes and post-tensioned to provide lateral foundation compression.
High performance, reinforced insulated precast concrete and tilt-up concrete structures and methods of making same
The invention comprises a product. The product comprises a foam insulating panel, the panel having a first primary surface and an opposite second primary surface, wherein the foam insulating panel defines at least one recessed channel in the first primary surface, the at least one recessed channel being sized and shaped to provide a mold for a structural reinforcing member. The product also comprises a concrete panel formed on the first primary surface and filling the at least one recessed channel so as to provide a structural reinforcing member for the concrete panel. The product further comprises an elongate anchor member in the foam insulating panel and extending from the first primary surface of the foam insulating panel into the concrete panel. A method of making a composite reinforced insulated concrete structure is also disclosed.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR POST-TENSIONING IN CONCRETE SUPPORT SYSTEMS
A system, method, and apparatus for post-tensioning in masonry-based system, especially concrete support systems. In one embodiment, a system is presented that can include an anchor, pocket-former, and bolt, wherein the pocket-former can be configured to engage each of the anchor and bolt to facilitate securing of the system to a form. In another embodiment, a method of post-tensioning is presented, wherein a tendon can be suspended at the live end via connections facilitated by a pocket-former. In another embodiment, a system and method of post-tensioning is presented that prevents a pocket and anchor from being contaminated with debris that could ultimately compromise the integrity of the tensioned material.
