PERMANENT TRUSS TIE
20200399900 · 2020-12-24 ·

A permanent spacing beam for the rapid deployment of roofing trusses on site. Such permanent spacing beams and truss ties as described may utilize a mount end, a retention end, and an elongate portion which spans the distance between the mount end and the retention end. The mount end may have a mount slot and the retention end may have a retention slot. The mount slot and the retention slot may be configured to permanently couple and mount to a first truss timber stud and an adjacent truss timber stud used in residential and commercial roof construction. Such a configuration results in a permanent truss tie being spanned between two roofing trusses thereby creating a more robust and sturdy roof construction.

In various embodiments, the concrete slab load transfer apparatus includes a plurality of load transfer dowels each having a top surface and a bottom surface, a basket supporting the load transfer dowels, and a plurality of welds including a plurality of breakable welds connecting the bottom surfaces of the load transfer dowels to the basket.

Integrated, post-tensioned, building construction system
10781588 · 2020-09-22 ·

The present invention relates an integrated, post-tensioned building construction system that utilizes a rectangular array of interlocking block components for the shell of building structures. Internal tendons that pass through the interlocking blocks are affixed to beams at the base or foundation of the building walls and terminate above beams atop the building walls. The ends of tendons receive mechanical fasteners that are tightened to the beams and/or foundation. The tendons serve to maintain the integrity of the interlocking block components, which cannot come apart when the tendons are tightened. Build stops secured to tendons help to stabilize the interlocking block components during construction. With interlocking blocks fabricated from a compressible material, like concrete-and-aggregate, the tendons are tensioned to induce a compressive load on the material. Inducing compression in the structure by tensioning the internal tendons augments the strength of the entire building by introducing an internal compressive stress that partially counteracts the tensile stresses caused by external loads applied to the structure, such as by windstorms, seismic events, or settling of the foundation.

A disclosed rebar coupler includes a first coupling member, a second coupling member, and a coupling means. Accordingly, the connection angle between the first coupling member and the second coupling member is variable to a desired angle. The connection angle between rebars to be connected may be rapidly and conveniently varied at an industrial site to which the rebars are applied.

Ductile chord connectors for use in concrete rods in structures
10753096 · 2020-08-25 · ·

Provided herein are connectors for use in assembling reinforced concrete structures, as well as methods of assembly using the connectors. In one embodiment, the connectors and methods provide for secure and easy connection to the butt end of any rebar rod, as well as attachment of an opposite end to another metal structure. For example, a butt portion of a connector slides over the butt portion of a rebar rod, and can include one or more sidewall openings to allow welding onto rebar that is enclosed within the butt portion of the connector. The opposite second end can include a faceplate for attaching a weld plate, thus permitting a series of connections using connectors and weld plates, among other things. The connectors provide selected properties that differ from the rebar, welds, and weld plates, such as stretch, yield strength, ultimate strength, and transfer of stress and vibration, among other things.

Intermediate coupler for concrete reinforcement

A coupler may include a first chuck, the first chuck including an outer surface and first external threads and a second chuck, the second chuck including an outer surface and second external threads having a reverse orientation relative to the first external threads. The coupler may also include a coupler body including a first end, a second end, and a passageway extending between the first end and the second end, the first end secured to the first chuck, the second end secured to the second chuck, the first end including first internal threads engaging the first external threads, the second end including second internal threads engaging the second external threads.

CONCRETE FORM BRACE WITH MULTI-DEPTH REBAR POSITIONING
20200232219 · 2020-07-23 ·

The described Concrete Form Brace With Multi-Depth Rebar Positioning is comprised of opposing attachment members, which secure the brace to the concrete form elements. The attachment members have a first top end, and a second bottom end. The corresponding bottom ends of the attachment members are connected by a spanning element, which spans the width of the concrete form. The attachment members and spanning element are further connected by a plurality of reinforcing struts. Rebar attachment means at multiple vertical depths within the concrete form are integrated or connected to the reinforcing struts to provide rebar securement means at multiple depths within the poured concrete. The preferred embodiment also features vertical spacing between horizontally placed rebar to accommodate L shaped vertical rebar placement for applications where vertical rebar is specified.

Floor dowel sleeve with integral spacing chambers

A floor dowel sleeve has a body portion with a top wall, a bottom wall, two side walls, and an end wall that together to surround an interior cavity. The interior cavity is configured to receive a dowel plate at an opening in the body portion opposite the end wall. Spacing elements are disposed at each of the two side walls and are configured to interface with opposing edges of the dowel plate to provide a space between the dowel plate and interior surfaces of the two side walls. The spacing elements each have a pair of legs that integrally protrude from the side wall into the interior cavity and interconnect to form a spacing chamber. The spacing elements are each configured to flex into the spacing chamber upon lateral horizontal movement of the dowel plate within the interior cavity.
