Method and apparatus for setting concrete reinforcement
A fixture for setting rebar at a predetermined distance from the rim of an excavated pit includes elongated first and second legs each having a proximal end and a distal end, the first and second legs rigidly joined at their mutual proximal ends to form an L-shape; an angle adjustment device carried by the first leg, comprising a foot movable towards or away from the first leg along an axis generally parallel to the second leg; a support bracket carried by the first leg at a predetermined offset distance from the proximal end thereof; and a hook extending from the distal end of the second leg, generally parallel to the first leg.
INTERMEDIATE COUPLER FOR CONCRETE REINFORCEMENT
A coupler may include a first chuck, the first chuck including an outer surface and first external threads and a second chuck, the second chuck including an outer surface and second external threads having a reverse orientation relative to the first external threads. The coupler may also include a coupler body including a first end, a second end, and a passageway extending between the first end and the second end, the first end secured to the first chuck, the second end secured to the second chuck, the first end including first internal threads engaging the first external threads, the second end including second internal threads engaging the second external threads.
Floor Dowel Sleeve with Integral Spacing Chambers
A floor dowel sleeve has a body portion with a top wall, a bottom wall, two side walls, and an end wall that together to surround an interior cavity. The interior cavity is configured to receive a dowel plate at an opening in the body portion opposite the end wall. Spacing elements are disposed at each of the two side walls and are configured to interface with opposing edges of the dowel plate to provide a space between the dowel plate and interior surfaces of the two side walls. The spacing elements each have a pair of legs that integrally protrude from the side wall into the interior cavity and interconnect to form a spacing chamber. The spacing elements are each configured to flex into the spacing chamber upon lateral horizontal movement of the dowel plate within the interior cavity.
CONCRETE SLAB LOAD TRANSFER APPARATUS AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a cast-in-place concrete slab load transfer apparatus and method of manufacturing same. In various embodiments, the concrete slab load transfer apparatus includes a plurality of load transfer dowels each having a top surface and a bottom surface, a basket supporting the load transfer dowels, and a plurality of welds including a plurality of breakable welds connecting the bottom surfaces of the load transfer dowels to the basket.
Structural support system for rockwork with mechanical fastening of adjacent chip assemblies
Rebar-based support assemblies that can be fabricated without the need for on-site welding. The assemblies include a number of differing sized and shaped crimps used in place of welds to provide rebar assembly-to-rebar assembly connections. Each crimp mechanically couples two or three pieces of rebar together, such as a border bar of one rebar assembly to a border bar of an adjacent rebar assembly. Each crimp includes a body with two or more arcuate recessed surfaces each for receiving a piece of rebar. In a first configuration of the crimp, a pair of spaced-apart arms (or extending members) extend from the body and define an opening through which the rebar is passed and set into the recessed surfaces. A deformation force is applied upon the two arms to deform the body into a second configuration with the arms in abutting contact or nearly so at an outer tip or end.
Rebar Holster System
A rebar holster system includes a vertical holster having an upper portion, a lower portion, and a middle portion. The upper portion includes an opening, the opening of the upper portion having a greater diameter than the vertical reinforcing bar such that the upper portion is dimensioned and configured for loosely receiving a leading end of the vertical reinforcing bar. The lower portion includes a securing means for securing the leading end of the vertical reinforcing bar to the vertical holster. The middle portion is disposed between the upper portion and the lower portion for guiding the leading end of the vertical reinforcing bar from the opening of the upper portion to the securing means of the lower portion.
Collapsible element pocket former
A pocket former may include a pocket former body, the pocket former body having an outer surface. The pocket former may further include a collapsible element, the collapsible element formed on the outer surface of the pocket former body. The collapsible element may extend radially outwardly from the pocket former body.
SLEEVE FOR COUPLING REINFORCING BAR AND A METHOD OF USING THE SAME
A rebar coupling sleeve is provided. The rebar coupling sleeve includes a first tubular member and a second tubular member interconnected by a reinforced spine member disposed along a common longitudinal length of each elongated tubular member. Each tubular member provides an interior space dimensioned to slidably receive a portion of rebar therein, the interior space extending between a closed end and an opposing open end, defining an entry point for a rebar. The open end of the first tubular member opposes the open end of the second tubular member such that they are positioned on opposing sides of the rebar coupling sleeve. The rebar coupling sleeve receives a pair of rebar therein via opposing ends thereof such that distal ends of two rebars are now secured in an overlapping condition relative to each other, removing any need to tie them together via traditional means.
REBAR HOLSTER SYSTEM
A method of installing a vertical reinforcing bar in a masonry wall includes constructing a base portion of the masonry wall, positioning a vertical holster within the base portion, stacking concrete masonry units above the base portion to form a vertical core within the concrete masonry units that is aligned with the vertical holster, and lowering the vertical reinforcing bar through the vertical core and the opening of the upper portion of the vertical holster until the leading end of the vertical reinforcing bar is secured to securing means of the vertical holster.
Systems and methods for concrete support post-tensioning
A system, method, and apparatus for post-tensioning in masonry-based system, especially concrete support systems. In one embodiment, a system is presented that can include an anchor, pocket-former, and bolt, wherein the pocket-former can be configured to engage each of the anchor and bolt to facilitate securing of the system to a form. In another embodiment, a method of post-tensioning is presented, wherein a tendon can be suspended at the live end via connections facilitated by a pocket-former. In another embodiment, a system and method of post-tensioning is presented that prevents a pocket and anchor from being contaminated with debris that could ultimately compromise the integrity of the tensioned material.
