SHINGLE WITH ENHANCED BONDING
20200248456 · 2020-08-06 ·

A shingle which includes a substrate, granules deposited on the substrate, a first material strip applied to the top of the substrate, a second material strip applied to the bottom of the substrate, and an adhesive applied to the second material strip. The second material strip is positioned along an edge of the substrate such that when a shingle is applied to a roof overlaying an existing shingle, the adhesive adheres the second material strip of the overlaying shingle to the first material strip of the existing shingle. The second material strip is applied to the bottom of the substrate prior particles being applied to the bottom surface of the substrate.

Roof integrated photovoltaic system

A roof integrated photovoltaic (RIPV) system has a plurality of solar tiles that are mounted to a roof. The tiles may be mounted using a metal batten and hanger system or some other attachment system. Each tile has an electrical edge junction extending reawardly from its top edge. The edge junction is coextensive with or contains the plane of the solar tile and may be slightly thicker than the solar tile. Sockets on opposed ends of the edge junction receive plugs of electrical cables for interconnecting the array of solar tiles together electrically. The edge junctions provide for a low profile installation that mimics the appearance of a traditional roofing tile such as a slate tile. The slightly thicker edge junctions may raise solar tiles of one course above the surfaces of solar tiles of a next lower course to provide ventilation for the RIPV array and to provide accommodating space for system wiring.

Tile fixing device and method for disassembling tile fixed by the same
20200181909 · 2020-06-11 ·

The present disclosure relates to a technical filed of mounting a tile, and discloses a tile fixing device and a method for disassembling the tile fixed by the same. The tile fixing device includes: a slider, at least a portion of the slider being disposed below the tile; a connector, at least a portion of the connector being disposed above the tile and the connector being coupled to the slider so as to hold the tile between the at least a portion of the connector and the at least a portion of the slider; and a fixing beam configured to be fixed on the building, and the slider being hung on the fixing beam so as to fix the tile on the building. In the tile fixing device, the fixing beam comprises a sliding groove extending in a direction at a certain angle to a longitudinal direction of the fixing beam and running through the fixing beam, the certain angle is greater than 0 degree and less than 180 degrees, the longitudinal direction of the fixing beam extends in a horizontal direction, and the slider is configured to be rotated such that the slider can slide along the sliding groove and slide out of the sliding groove so as to detach the slider from the fixing beam and remove the tile. The present disclosure has the advantages of easy disassembly and easy maintenance.

SHINGLE ASSEMBLY
20200149281 · 2020-05-14 ·

A shingle assembly includes a panel that has a front side, a back side, an upper edge, a lower edge, a first lateral edge, and a second lateral edge. An upper coupler is attached to and extends along the upper edge. A lower coupler is attached to and extends along the lower edge and snappily engages an upper coupler of another one of the shingle assemblies. A flange is integrally attached to and extends along the second lateral edge such that the flange and the panel form a unitary member. The flange extends laterally away from the panel. A lip is coextensive with and extends forwardly of an upper edge of the flange and inhibits water from wicking upwardly beyond the upper edge of the flange.

ROOFING SYSTEM AND METHOD

A lighter, more cost-effective roofing system and method, which includes a rain diverting feature for directing rainwater and snowmelt away from an underlying sheet material and roof deck, is provided. The invention includes a sheet material having an upper surface and a lower surface. The upper surface includes one of a hook and loop fastener and the lower surface is configured to be attached to the roof deck. The present invention further includes a plurality of roofing tiles, each tile having hook and loop fasteners adhered to a back face which extend along the width of the tile at or near the uppermost and lowermost edges. Each rain diverting feature, which is a strip-like device with one surface made up of a plurality of hook portions and an opposing surface made up of a plurality of portions complementary to the hook portions, is positioned between and releasably attached to the hook and loop fasteners located on a side-edge portion of two adjacent tiles and the underlying sheet material, thereby releasably attaching the tiles to each other and to the upper surface of the underlying sheet material. The use of rain diverting devices to direct rainwater and snowmelt away from the underlying sheet material and roof deck allows for single lap tiling and thus less weight on the roof deck. It also allows for shorter tiles to be used, thus saving material cost.

LAYOUT STARTER AND FIELD SHINGLE FOR SLOPED ASPHALT ROOFING
