A ridge structure at a roof edge, having a base panel lying on a roof surface and a hollow ridge structure over the base panel. The hollow ridge structure is constructed in a flat spring form along the eaves, and therefore one slope of the ridge faces the roof and the other slope the opposite direction. The slope facing the roof can be lifted to receive and secure roofing materials between the slope and the base panel. When water flows down the roof surface, most water flows over the ridge structure and the rest flows into the hollow space inside the ridge structure and drains through drain holes on the base panel.

One fastening arrangement comprises a fastener having a shaft extending in a longitudinal direction and fastening features at longitudinally spaced positions along the shaft. The fastening features may comprise a fastening peg or an opening receiving a fastening member therethrough. The pegs and openings may be combined in such a manner that at least two of the features cooperate with the apertures of the respective sheet in opposing transverse directions so as to longitudinally offset the apertures in the overlapping condition. Another fastening arrangement comprises a roof-covering sheet locating fastenings pegs which are spaced inward of the apertures in a longitudinal direction of the sheet so as to form the longitudinal offset between the respective sets of apertures.

A metal roofing member 1 has a front substrate 10, a rear substrate 11 and a core material 12. The front substrate 10 is made of a metal sheet. In the front substrate 10, a box-shaped body portion 100 and a flange portion 110 extending from the body portion 100 are provided. The flange portion 110 is formed by folding back, over the rear side of the front substrate 10, of a metal sheet 111 extending outwards of the body portion 100 in a direction 100b perpendicular to a height direction 100a of the body portion 100, from a lower edge of the body portion 100, in such a manner that the metal sheet 111 wraps around the rear substrate 11. The metal roofing member 1 is disposed on a roof base, with the flange portion 110 butting against a flange portion 110 of another metal roofing member.

The panel may have a recessed base at the lower edge of the keyways defining a fold lip adjacent the mounting surface, and a full base formed at the lower edge of the raised faces and extending beyond the recessed base.
