SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INCONTINENCE CONTROL
20190328927 · 2019-10-31 ·

A system for managing female incontinence includes a body of biocompatible material configured to fit between the labia minora and the vestibule floor, the body having a surface configured to occlude the urethral meatus, an adhesive carried on at least a first portion of the surface and configured to provide a sealing engagement between the body and the urethral meatus, and a substance carried by at least one of the body and the adhesive and configured for controlling the odor of the general vaginal-urethral area of a female.

METHODS FOR PROMOTING HEALING OF TISSUE

A method for promoting healing of tissue by delivering a bioreactor into a subject is provided. The bioreactor is an enclosed housing with paracrine factor producing cells enclosed within the housing. The housing is impermeable to the paracrine factor producing cells, impermeable to immunological cells outside of the housing, and permeable to paracrine factors produced by the paracrine factor producing cells. The paracrine factors produced by the paracrine factor producing cells are released out of the housing to promote healing of the tissue.

Extracellular Matrix Implant

A corneal implant includes one or more extracellular matrix (ECM) components; and one or more crosslinking/polymerization promoting agents, wherein the one or more ECM components undergo crosslinking/polymerization on exposure to an initiator.

Wound dressing nanomesh impregnated with human umbilical cord Wharton's jelly stem cells

The invention is directed to a method of treating a wound (e.g., to suppress scar formation) in an individual in need thereof comprising contacting the wound with an effective amount of a composition comprising (i) Wharton's jelly stem cells (WJSCs), (ii) a cell culture medium that has been conditioned with WJSCs, (iii) a lysate of WJSCs, (iv) a cell culture medium that has been conditioned with WJSCs exposed to apoptotic skin cells and keloid cells, or (v) a combination thereof. The invention is directed to a medical dressing (e.g., pharmaceutical compositions) comprising Wharton's jelly stem cells (WJSCs), a cell culture medium that has been conditioned with WJSCs, a lysate of WJSCs, a cell culture medium that has been conditioned with WJSCs exposed to apoptotic skin cells and keloid cells, or a combination thereof.

Micronized eggshell membrane particles and the use thereof to promote the healing of wounds
11992508 · 2024-05-28 · ·

The invention provides a particle consisting essentially of micronized ESM and having a mean particle diameter of less than 100 ?m for use in promoting the healing of a chronic wound at risk of, or in which there is, (i) an inappropriate level of matrix-metalloproteinase (MMP) activity against extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins and/or peptide growth or differentiation factors, and/or (ii) an excessive inflammatory response. The invention further provides pharmaceutical compositions, wound dressings and implantable medical devices comprising the micronized ESM-containing particles for use in said treatments. The invention still further provides methods for manufacturing the micronized ESM-containing particles and the compositions, dressings and implantable medical devices comprising the same.

SCAFFOLD FOR BONE REGENERATION AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

A scaffold for bone regeneration comprises a three-dimensional support structure made with a composite hybrid formed by a bovine bone-derived matrix reinforced with a polymer and containing collagen fragments; the support structure is functionalized with secretome, in particular mesenchymal stem cell secretome, in lyophilized form (lyosecretome).

SCAFFOLD FOR TISSUE REGENERATION, PARTICULARLY FOR BONE REGENERATION, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

A scaffold for tissue regeneration, particularly for bone regeneration, comprises a three-dimensional supporting structure made of a biocompatible and biodegradable material; the supporting structure is functionalized with secretome, in particular mesenchymal stem cell secretome, preferably in lyophilized form (lyosecretome).

Methods and composition for suppression of pathogenic bacterial growth, fungal growth, or microbial growth in or on skin
10350187 · 2019-07-16 · ·

The present disclosure relates to methods and compositions for suppressing pathogenic bacterial growth, fungal growth, or microbial growth in or on a selected area of skin or open wound. An area of the skin or open wound having pathogenic bacterial growth, fungal growth, or microbial growth is selected for the suppression of the growth. A suppressing material comprising punicic acid is applied to the selected area of the skin and the pathogenic bacterial growth, fungal growth, or microbial growth is suppressed. Methods of making and using the suppressing material comprising punicic acid are also presently provided.
