Dehydrated Aloe Vera Impregnated Medicated Gauze
The present invention relates to a medicated gauze impregnated with a dehydrated aloe vera extract. The medicated gauze is designed to treat deep wounds, topical burns and dry skin. The medicated gauze is produced by soaking the gauze in an aloe vera extract, drying the gauze in a sterile dehydrator, and then rolling the dried gauze into packages. When the medicated gauze is applied to a wound, the dehydrated aloe vera extract is hydrated by the patient's body moisture to create an aloe vera gel environment conducive to preventing infection and promoting wound healing while avoiding damage to surrounding skin.
Non-surgical, localized delivery of compositions for placental growth factors
Described herewith are compositions comprising placental growth factors and methods for non-surgical, localized delivery thereof. The composition is delivered to a diseased or injured organ and/or body part and is formulated in a manner which allows for localized retention of the composition at the site of delivery.
PLATELET LYSATE GEL
The invention concerns a pharmaceutical composition comprising a platelet lysate and its use to treat a wound, an anal fissure, vaginal atrophy or a wrinkle.
Embolic material and method for producing same
An embolic material contains at least one type of polymer and a liposoluble contrast medium. A method for producing an embolic material includes extruding a raw material that is in a molten state into a solvent, and cooling the raw material so as to solidify the raw material. The raw material contains a polymer and a liposoluble contrast medium.
HERNIA REPAIR DEVICE AND METHODS
An improved abdominal hernia repair system is presented comprised of a silicone layer backed up with a knitted or woven polypropylene fabric layer, the silicone layer possessing a regular pattern of slits that permit equilibration of fluid pressure across the device. A variety of therapeutic substances can be applied to the hernia repair device to promote healing, including aloe and other medicinal preparations. A layer of water soluble or water insoluble anti-scar compound is also present, the preferred compound being Salinomycin.
An improved inguinal hernia repair system is presented that is identical to the above except it does not contain the hydrophobic silicone component.
IMPLANTABLE BIOREACTOR FOR DELIVERY OF PARACRINE FACTORS
An implantable bioreactor containing a barrier which is designed to allow the release of cell-derived biomolecules, but restricts the entry of immunologic and other cells, or the egress of the cells contained within the bioreactor. Two broad classes of implantable bioreactors are envisioned, encompassing devices for both systemic delivery of the bio-products and local delivery at the target tissue. Bioreactors of both classes can be implanted via surgery, through percutaneous techniques, or other techniques which effect implantation.
TOPICAL HEALING AND SCAR TREATMENT COMPOSITION
Topical aqueous compositions are effective in minimizing scar formation and improving the visual appearance of scars. The compositions are also effective in treating numerous skin disorders, including acne, psoriasis, and eczema.
Diaper lining for treatment of diaper rash
An embodiment of this disclosure provides a medical dressing. The medical dressing includes a first layer comprising a non-woven material capable of being liquid permeable. The medical dressing also includes a second layer comprising a topical composition and a solidifying agent. The second layer is positioned on a side of the first layer. The medical dressing also includes a third layer comprising a material capable of being liquid impermeable. The third layer is positioned on the second layer opposite the first layer.
Medical Device Comprising Boswellic Acid
A medical composition and devices made from the composition for the delivery of extracts obtained from Boswellia genus, similar compounds synthetically derived, and in particular derivatives of triterpenes is disclosed. The medical device may be implantable, or alternatively a device which contacts the interior of a mammalian body. The medical device may be comprised, of or present an absorbable component containing Boswellia derivatives, or an eluting component. When administered into a particular body site, the Boswellia component may be released substantially and immediately, released slowly, or not released, into the body and residing actively on the medical device surface.
WOUND HEALING COMPOSITIONS INVOLVING MEDICINAL HONEY, MINERAL IONS AND METHYLGLYOXAL, AND METHODS OF USE
The invention provides compositions based on either medicinal honey containing broad spectrum antibacterial activities of peroxide, polyphenols and methylglyoxal, or an effective amount of an active anti-inflammatory ingredient of mineral solids fortified with methylglyoxal antibacterial activity, or a mixture of both for the treatment of wounds; and methods of treating a wound, comprising contacting a wound with any one of the above compositions or a wound dressing containing any one of the above compositions.
