The clip (104) may be installed on a standing seam (102) of a panel assembly (100), with its first clip member (112) engaging one of the metal panels 82″ that define this stand seam (102) and with its second clip member (116) engaging the other of the metal panels 82″ that define this same standing seam (102).

Multiple roof decking sections are mounted on the rafters. Each decking section extends under a part of the anchor plate. The anchor plate has one or more flaps that extend downwardly from the decking sections and next to a rafter. Fasteners attach each flap to a rafter.

The lateral edges also include a second set of folds on at least one of the lateral edges, and a third set of folds on at least one other lateral edge. The lateral edges comprise at least one curvature at one of the first set of folds placed horizontal and parallel to the installation base. The cover also has at least one fixing bracket that is configured to join the lateral edges.

In addition, the clamp may have a channel and at least one protrusion that locate the roof joint within the clamp in a predetermined position to ensure that a bar component such as a bolt or a set screw can secure the roof joint within the clamp. Moreover, further features and arrangements of features can better position the clamp over a center of the roof joint.

The working unit includes a carriage movable along the longitudinal axis. The carriage includes dies configured to cut and deform one end of the upper sheet of the panels and a thrust member for introducing reinforcement plates into a tail end of the expanded polymer intermediate layer. The thrust member is placed downstream of the dies along the working direction of the panels.

A method of roofing a bare roof deck includes applying asphalt shingles and metal flashings to a wood deck of a roof. The flashings applied are edge drip for edges and gable ends, metal valleys, and step flashing for wall to roof junctions. Asphalt capping of ridges or hips are applied. Metal panels overtop of existing asphalt roof are applied thereby creating a metal overlay configured such that substantially all of the asphalt shingles are covered with a metal panel for preventing further degradation of asphalt components by shielding from sunlight, UV rays, excessive moisture, snow, wind, ice, and fire. No further flashings are installed thereby the metal panel overlay is configured to create a semi-watertight seal such that the metal panel overlay together with the asphalt roof is adapted to create a watertight seal.
