Flat Roof Mounting Device
20240392826 · 2024-11-28 · ·

A mounting device for covering a roof penetration in a roof includes a base including a hub, an outer perimeter structure, a top, a bottom, and ribs extending from the hub outward to the outer perimeter structure. An internal reservoir extends between the hub and the outer perimeter structure. A mount plate is disposed in the internal reservoir between the hub and the outer perimeter structure. A bore is formed in the mount plate.

Insulation screw and method for inserting such an insulation screw

Insulation screw adapted to be inserted by a mounting device into insulation material, where the insulation screw comprises a body provided with at least one thread, where the tip of the body is pointed, where the outer diameter of the head is equal to or smaller than the outer diameter of the body and where the lead pitch of the thread is at least 30 millimetres. An insulation screw can be driven completely through a central opening since the insulation screw does not have a protruding head. The insulation screw is provided with a thread and the opening of a mounting device is provided with a corresponding threaded portion, such that the insulation screw is screwed into the insulation material by a non-rotating pushing force.

Low Slope Roofing System

A roofing system, comprising an underlayment layer above a roof deck; at least one strap spaced horizontally up the slope of a roof deck and above the underlayment layer; at least two fasteners attached to the at least one strap and into the roof deck; at least one bead of adhesive applied above the at least one strap; and at least two metal roofing panels placed on the at least one bead of adhesive applied to the at least one strap.

Low slope roofing system

A roofing system, comprising: at least one strap spaced on centers horizontally up the slope of a roof deck; at least one bead of adhesive applied to the at least one strap; at least two metal roofing panels placed on the at least one bead of adhesive applied to the at least one strap; and at least two fasteners attached to the at least two metal roofing panels and into the roof deck at a top and perimeter of the at least two metal roofing panels.

Temperature Sensing Induction Heating Tool
20180007743 · 2018-01-04 ·

An induction heating tool that holds voltage or current supplied to the induction tank circuit constant and tracks changes in the other of voltage or current during each induction heating cycle. The disclosed induction heating tool exploits the fact that the resistance an attachment plate increases along with the temperature of the attachment plate. During an induction heating cycle, the attachment plate is magnetically coupled to a work coil and the resistance of the attachment plate is reflected to the circuit. Changes in the resistance of the attachment plate alter the pattern of energy delivery from the work coil to the attachment plate in a predictable way. Calculations accurately predict the temperature of the attachment plate over a wide variety of ambient conditions, including the presence of moisture at the membrane/attachment plate interface. The disclosed induction heating tool produces consistent results without calibration for ambient conditions.

A method of covering a roof penetration in a roof includes providing a roof mounting device comprising a base, an outer perimeter structure, an open top, an open bottom, and an internal reservoir bound by the outer perimeter structure, and a fastener. The method includes securing the roof mounting device to the roof by applying the fastener to the base and to the roof penetration. The method includes applying a sealant to the internal reservoir until the sealant seals the fastener at the roof penetration.

Fastening plate assembly

A roofing system includes a construction board positioned over a roof deck and a plurality of fastening plates positioned on a top surface of the construction board. At least one connector extends between two of the plurality of fastening plates and is positioned on the top surface of the construction board. The construction boards may be insulation or cover boards, and in certain embodiments may be polyisocyanurate boards. Fasteners are driven through the fastening plates and the construction boards and into an underlying roof deck to secure the construction boards in place.

Injection-molded roofing membrane plate

An injection-molded plastic roofing membrane plate includes a body and multiple cleats. The cleats extend from a bottom surface of the body. Each of the cleats has a rounded terminal end with a rounded terminal surface. The rounded terminal surfaces make surface-to-surface abutment with an underlying membrane in installation. The rounded terminal surfaces reduce wear on the underlying membrane that may otherwise occur.

ROOF COVER FASTENER

A roof cover fastener may include a cover plate having a planar body with a perimeter. A central aperture may be disposed centrally in the body. A first annular rib may be formed into the body and may encircle the central aperture. A second annular rib may be formed into the body and may encircle the first annular rib. A first channel may separate the first annular rib from the second annular rib. A medial aperture may be disposed in the channel between the first annular rib and the second annular rib. The fastener may also include an auger element having a first end and a second end. A head may be coupled to the first end, and a tip may be coupled to the second end. A thread crest with a thread root may extend from the second end towards the first end.

Sealed fastener cap and related method of manufacture

A fastener cap system can include a rigid cap and a sealing member which forms a liquid barrier so moisture is impaired from entering a space under the rigid cap and/or around a fastener installed through it. The sealing member can include a central seal disposed on an upper surface of the cap, the seal extending beyond a head of a fastener, which extends through the cap and sealing member, so that moisture is impaired from entering the cap under the head. The sealing member can be above and below respective lowermost and uppermost cap surfaces so the cap system can be fed cleanly and efficiently through a cap feeder during installation via a tool. The sealing member, which can have a higher coefficient of friction than the rigid cap, thereby does not drag along a cap feeder and cause feeding issues. Related methods of manufacture and use are provided.
