The present subject matter provides apparatus for connecting a roof assembly to a membrane using at least one backer rod connected to the membrane, including: counterflashing disposed about the perimeter of the roof assembly, the counterflashing including a plurality of grips configured to receive and engage the at least one backer rod in contact with the membrane, so as to hold the membrane securely in position and maintain a weather seal at a desired flashing height of the membrane. In various examples, the roof assembly includes a roof hatch, window, or other fenestration unit. In various examples, the present subject matter provides a hatch attached to a wall for sealing an opening. In various examples, the present subject matter provides a method for operating a roof assembly for connection to a roof membrane.

Roofing membranes having multiple adhesive regions and method therefor

A roofing membrane may include a main body, a first material, and a second material. The first material may be bonded to the main body and positioned toward a first edge thereof. The second material may be bonded to the main body and positioned toward a second edge thereof. The second edge may be positioned opposite the first edge such that the first and second materials are positioned toward opposite edges of the main body. At least one of the first material or the second material may include a first reactive material of a chemically reactive two-part cure system that is configured to chemically react upon contact of the first reactive material with a second reactive material of the chemically reactive two-part cure system.

Device for heating and connecting sheets of bituminous or synthetic membranes and a bituminous or synthetic membrane thereof

A device for heating and connecting sheets (11, 12, 111, 121) of bituminous or synthetic membranes (100), comprising at least one sheet (11, 12, 111, 121) of a bituminous or synthetic membrane (100) which is applied to at least one base layer (141), said membrane (100) being formed with a single compound or having at least one bottom layer including a compound or a bituminous mixture and at least one upper layer including a polymeric material and an electrically conductive material, which is heated; in particular, a body (13, 23) having a mainly longitudinal (A) development and placed on a first edge (11a, 21a) of a first sheet (11, 21, 111, 121) of the membrane (100) in order to connect said first edge to a second edge (12a, 22a) of a second sheet (12, 22, 111, 121) of the membrane (100) is provided with an upper face (13a, 23a).

A method of pulling a sheet of flexible material includes forming a row of a plurality of lengthwise slits in a sheet of material; providing at least one pull device; and providing at least one cable winch. A tubular pull rod is inserted through the plurality of slits. A pull device preferably includes a first pull strap, a second pull strap, a spreader bar and a strap ring. First and second pull devices are positioned near opposing sides of the sheet of material. First and second winches are secured to the floor on one sidewall of the building. The sheet of material is laid on the floor at an opposing sidewall of the building. Cables from the first and second winches are pulled over struts in the building and secured to the first and second pull devices. The sheet of flexible material is pulled to the one sidewall.

Seamless sheet insulation around roof structural members

A seamless sheet installation system preferably includes a seamless sheet and a plurality of sheet retention devices. The seamless sheet is retained on a tube. A pair of rotating retention devices may be inserted into ends of the roll. Each rolling retention device includes a tube plug and a rotating handle. An end of the seamless sheet is secured to the top eave flange. The seamless sheet is held against a bottom of the eave purlin web with one of the plurality of sheet retention devices. The sheet retention device may have any suitable design. The seamless sheet is rolled out to successive purlins, wrapped over the top flange and anchored to a bottom of the vertical web with one of the plurality of sheet retention devices. The seamless sheet wrapping process is terminated at an opposing eave purlin or a ridge purlin. Insulation is then inserted between adjacent purlins.
