ATTACHING HOOK FILM TO INSULATION BOARD

Methods for attaching a layer of hook fasteners onto an insulation board for use attaching a roofing membrane having fleece backed loops thereon such that the roofing membrane can be held onto the insulation membrane by: adhering the hook layer onto portions of the top or bottom facer of an insulation board after the insulation board has exited a laminator; or adhering the hook layer onto the top or bottom facer prior to entry into the laminator; or replacing the top or bottom facer of the insulation board with the hook layer before use in the laminator.

HOOK AND FLEECE ROOFING SYSTEM WITH ROLLED UP ADHESIVE RELEASE LAYER AND METHOD OF APPLICATION

A hook and loop system for attaching a roofing membrane into the top of a building insulation board including a roofing membrane with a fleece backing having a release sheet on the fleece backing. The release sheet is manually removed in the field to attach the fleece backing directly onto a layer of hooks that have been pre-attached onto the top of the insulation board. The release layer may be somewhat sticky, yet not adhere too tightly to the fleece layer such that its removal does not damage the fleece backing. The release layer may also be pre-rolled together with the fleece backed roofing membrane and shipped together as a unit into the field.

Temperature sensing induction heating tool
12016103 · 2024-06-18 · ·

An induction heating tool that holds voltage or current supplied to the induction tank circuit constant and tracks changes in the other of voltage or current during each induction heating cycle. The disclosed induction heating tool exploits the fact that the resistance an attachment plate increases along with the temperature of the attachment plate. During an induction heating cycle, the attachment plate is magnetically coupled to a work coil and the resistance of the attachment plate is reflected to the circuit. Changes in the resistance of the attachment plate alter the pattern of energy delivery from the work coil to the attachment plate in a predictable way. Calculations accurately predict the temperature of the attachment plate over a wide variety of ambient conditions, including the presence of moisture at the membrane/attachment plate interface. The disclosed induction heating tool produces consistent results without calibration for ambient conditions.

Expander for fastening track for fabric wall coverings
10202776 · 2019-02-12 ·

An expander member for use with fastening track for fabric wall coverings that allows for wider distances between the fabric and the wall to be covered. The invention allows for top loading of fabric as well as side loading. The expander includes a series of grooves that allow for fastening of the member to a wall as well as for fastening to additional members proximate the top and bottom as desired. Alternatively, one or more pocket holes can be used to secure the member to a wall using a fastening screw. In the preferred embodiment first flange extends outward from the member with a height shorter than the member forming a groove therebetween for the placement therein of the fastening track. An alternate embodiment includes a second top flange that is proximate the top side and the back that has a length shorter than the top side creating a groove therebetween for the placement therein of a second fastening track that allow for fabric to horizontally stretch atop the member a desired.

SELF-PROPELLED FASTENING UNIT AND METHOD FOR FASTENING SEALING WEBS

Fastening systems for attaching fabric to a roof deck
12084866 · 2024-09-10 · ·

Fastener systems for roofing systems are disclosed for fastening a fabric, mesh, or base sheet to a roof deck prior to application of a liquid applied roof coating. The fastening assemblies may be attached to an uncleaned or unprimed roof deck and a fabric is laid atop the fasteners. The fasteners secure the fabric using mechanical binding or chemical bonding without penetrating or dimpling the fabric.

MAGNETIC CLAMPING HEAT SINK ASSEMBLY

A magnetic clamping heat sink assembly is disclosed including a magnetic assembly with a carrier body including a magnet. A spring resiliently biases the carrier body. A base assembly includes a base plate. In a first operating condition, the base assembly of the magnetic clamping heat sink assembly is positioned in a first position away from a ferromagnetic element, and the spring holds the carrier body at a medial position spaced apart from the base plate. In a second operating condition, the base assembly of the magnetic clamping heat sink assembly is positioned in a second position adjacent to the ferromagnetic element, and the carrier body is driven downward against a force of the spring to a lower position and into contact with the base plate by magnetic attraction between the at least one magnet and the ferromagnetic element.

Non-penetrating roof mount for a membrane roof
09982436 · 2018-05-29 · ·

A mounting assembly for a membrane roof has a metal base plate coated on both sides with material compatible to heat weld, a plurality of openings spaced around an outer periphery, one further hole within the pattern having a bolt passing upward through the hole, and a first sheet of roofing membrane material having length and width dimensions smaller than those of the metal base plate, heat welded over the bolt head.

Membrane roofing

A foam roofing underlayment is provided with a reinforcement membrane having an array of fastener elements for engaging fastener elements on a flexible roof membrane. The underlayment is formed by molding foam between the reinforcement membrane and a carrier membrane. The underlayment in secured to the roof using washers having fastener elements for engaging the fastener elements of the flexible roof membrane. An anti-peel flap with fastener elements is provided around the periphery of the washers. A slip sheet is used between the underlayment and the flexible roof membrane to permit accurate positioning of the flexible roof membrane prior to engagement of the fastener elements. The interstices between the fastener elements provide lateral moisture paths to vents in the flexible roof membrane.
