Silk sericin-based hydrogel, methods and uses thereof
The present disclosure relates to a novel sericin-based hydrogel wherein the silk sericin is enzymatically cross-linked for an improved treatment of wound healing, ischemic diseases or cardiovascular diseases, namely chronic wound healing, in particular diabetic wound.
4% Trisodium Citrate Solution for Use as a Catheter Lock Solution
Provided herein are catheter lock solutions having anticoagulation and antimicrobial properties, the catheter lock solutions including citrate salts. The citrate salt can be trisodium citrate, and the catheter lock solution can further include a diluted acid for adjusting the pH of the catheter lock solution.
PRO-HEALING, PRO-REGENERATIVE NANOFIBROUS COATING FOR MEDICAL IMPLANTS
The present invention relates to a medical implant, and more particularly, to a vascular implant having a dual coating structure for preventing in-stent restenosis and thrombosis. In one embodiment, the invention contemplates a vascular stent with a coating comprising a hydrophobic, degradable core with a coaxial sheath comprising at least one polyethylene-glycol derivative. In one embodiment, said at least one polyethylene-glycol derivative comprises polyethylene-glycol dimethacrylate.
Coatings Containing Multiple Drugs
A method for depositing a coating comprising a polymer and at least two pharmaceutical agents on a substrate, comprising the following steps: providing a stent framework; depositing on said stent framework a first layer comprising a first pharmaceutical agent; depositing a second layer comprising a second pharmaceutical agent; Wherein said first and second pharmaceutical agents are selected from two different classes of pharmaceutical agents.
Medical product and medical kit for use when treating a bone cavity, in particular for use when filling and/or closing a bone cavity
A medical product, preferably for use in treating, in particular filling and/or closing a bone cavity, wherein the product comprises a plurality of interconnected members, wherein each member has a peripheral boundary and the boundaries of adjacent members engage with one another. And a method for producing a medical product, preferably for use in treating, in particular filling and/or closing a bone cavity, wherein the product comprises a plurality of interconnected members, wherein each member has a peripheral boundary and the boundaries of adjacent members engage with one another.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR ANTI-LYST IMMUNOMODULATION
Excessive or repeated activation of inflammatory and pro-coagulant mechanisms at the site of tissue injury contributes to the development scar tissue that can lead to intimal hyperplasia and fibrotic disease. It has been established that inhibition of the LYST protein is associated with reduced inflammatory responses and reduced platelet activation at the site of tissue damage. Compositions and methods for inhibition of the expression and function of the LYST protein are described. The compositions and methods can be useful for the modulation of immune processes that contribute to formation of neointima and fibroproliferative disorders by altering macrophage, platelet and natural killer cell function to create a pro-regenerative immune response.
Method for producing a fibrin-based bioartificial, primarily acellular construct, and the construct itself
The invention relates to a method for producing a bioartificial and primarily acellular fibrin-based construct, wherein a mixture of cell-free compositions containing fibrinogen and thrombin is applied to a surface and subsequently pressurised. An additional aspect of the invention is directed to such fibrin-based bioartificial acellular constructs obtained according to the invention, with improved biomechanical properties, as well as to the use of same in the field of implantology, cartilage replacement or tissue replacement.
USE OF A SUBSTRATE COATING FOR DECREASING LEAKAGE OF MATTER
There is provided a method for decreasing leakage of matter from an object to a surrounding, said object being coated with a coating at least partially applied on the object, said coating comprising an at least partially covering layer comprising silver, said object optionally comprising area(s) without said layer, said coating comprising metal particles applied on the layer and optionally on areas without said layer, said metal particles comprising palladium and at least one metal selected from the group consisting of gold, ruthenium, rhodium, osmium, iridium, niobium, neodymium and platinum and wherein the amount of the metal particles is in the interval 0.01-8 μg/cm.sup.2. Advantages include that leakage of matter such as latex allergens of metal ions can be reduced while the coating is both biocompatible and antimicrobial. Further, the blood clotting can be reduced.
COMPOSITE DRESSINGS, MANUFACTURING METHODS AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF
The present disclosure provides a composite dressing comprising a combination of porous matrix and fabric substrate wherein at least one of said porous matrix and fabric substrate is composed biomaterial(s) and wherein the fabric substrate is at least partially embedded in the porous matrix. Further, the disclosure provides a method for preparation of said composite dressing, wherein said method enables production of the composite dressing having cohesive bonding between porous matrix and fabric support without use of any adhesive, stitching or chemical crosslinking agent between the two layers. The composite dressing exhibits high peel strength in both dry and wet conditions and has applications such as hemostatic dressings for deep cavity wounds, puncture wounds, post-partum hemorrhage and internal hemostatic agents.
BIOSCAFFOLD COMPOSITIONS OF MATTER
The embodiments disclosed herein relate to acellular matrix bioscaffold compositions comprising 1) a natural or synthetic polymer or blend of polymers; 2) collagen I (Col-1); and 3) collagen III (Col-3), wherein the ratio of Col-1 to Col-3 is between 0.5 and 3.5, wherein said bioscaffold is synthetic.
