Joint Assembly for Use in a Retractable Awning
20180106047 · 2018-04-19 ·

An awning arm is provided in which internal components are concealed and in which tension is adjustable. The arm includes an elbow that includes an outer knuckle that includes a top tang and a bottom tang, the tangs rotatably engaged to a circular encasement of an inner knuckle via a plurality of bushings. Two hubs are concealed by the encasement and the tangs, the hubs secured within the two tangs. A webbing is secured within the hubs, a pull upon the webbing urging the rotation of the hubs and consequently the outer knuckle and the elbow as a whole. Arm extrusions are attached to the outer and inner knuckles, with the rotation of the elbow causing the bending and straightening of the arm. Components that prevent the arm from overextending are concealed within the elbow.

A deployable canopy apparatus includes canopy rails having a first, free end and a second end proximal to a spool rod. The canopy rails include a channel and a slit extending along the length of the canopy rail. A canopy is secured to the spool rod and secured to a translating member that extends between the canopy rails. The canopy has a first and a second side defining a loop housed in the canopy rails through the slits. Retaining members extend through the canopy loops and are secured within the canopy rail channels. A translation drive assembly is configured to translate the first translating member between the first and second ends of the canopy rails and spool or unspool the canopy from the spool rod.

Sheet material arrangement
12286792 · 2025-04-29 · ·

A sheet material arrangement having a flexible primary sheet material and an edge member with two legs pivotably connected together. The first leg has two outer portions of a band-shaped secondary sheet material and is connected to the primary sheet material along an edge portion. A central portion of the secondary sheet material is looped around an insert transversely to the longitudinal direction of said secondary sheet material and, together with this insert, forms a second leg which is connected to the first leg so as to be pivotable about a pivot axis. In a pivoting position, with the legs arranged approximately parallel, the edge member and the sheet material can be rolled up on a winding shaft. In a further pivoting position, the legs form an angle of inclination different than 0, with the result that the second leg is useable for guided displacement in a guide rail.

Multi-purpose vehicle tonneau cover

A vehicle accessory system includes a tonneau cover to be adaptably disposed onto a vehicle in a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration, the tonneau cover retractably overlaps a cargo area of the vehicle, in which the tonneau cover is attached to a perimeter of the cargo area via an attachment mechanism configured to cause the tonneau cover to extend so as to cover the cargo area and to retract so as to uncover the cargo area. In the second configuration, the tonneau cover detachably couples at a first end portion to a roof of the vehicle, such that a second end portion of the tonneau cover extends outward perpendicularly, relative to the vehicle, so as to at least partially overlap an area underneath the second end portion and alongside the vehicle.
