Luxury Vinyl Plank Stair Noses and Other Moldings
A molding is made from a first flooring plank. A first groove is formed into the first flooring plank with a first flat bottom surface. A second groove is formed into the first flooring plank with a second flat bottom surface. The first flooring plank is folded at the first groove and second groove. A second flooring plank is disposed adjacent to the molding. A color and pattern of the first flooring plank and second flooring plank match.
METHOD FOR BENDING A VINYL FLOOR PLANK TO FORM A STAIR NOSE PLANK
A method for bending a vinyl floor plank to form a stair nose plank. A first bending gap is established between two blending blocks and a second bend gap is established between two second bending blocks. Heat is applied to a vinyl floor plank along a first bend location. The vinyl floor plank is then placed into the first bend gap. A user presses downward on the vinyl floor plank to form a first right angle bend. Heat is applied to a vinyl floor plank along a second bend location. The vinyl floor plank is then placed into the second bend gap. The user presses downward on the vinyl floor plank to form a second right angle bend. The first right angle bend and the second right angle bend combine to form a U-shaped bend to form a stair nose plank. In a preferred embodiment the stair nose plank includes a locking mechanism along its edges. In a preferred embodiment heat is applied by utilization of an acrylic bending machine.
STEP COVER AND STAIR COVER SYSTEM
A step cover and a stair cover system. The step cover includes a flat tread, a length of extruded plastic cap, and a spline. The tread having a front, two sides, and a back, a lower surface and an upper surface, at least the upper surface wrapped with a decorative film, the front and the sides each having a groove, the length of plastic cap having a curved cross section with two ends, an outer surface and an inner surface, a curved front, said back having two straight edges between the ends, at least one of the edges having a groove, the outer surface of the plastic cap wrapped with a decorative film, and the spline having a top surface and a bottom surface, the spline configured to fit into grooves in the tread and the plastic cap.
Device and methods for making a stair tread and a molded curved stair tread
A device for making a molded stair tread is described. The device can have: a base; a pivoting assembly; a molding template connected to the pivoting assembly; a holding device connected to the molding template, the holding device having a clamp jaw and a pivot configured to rotate the holding device relative to the molding template; and a locking mechanism configured to hold the molding template and the holding device in an open configuration such that the holding device can accept a first part of the plastic sheet and configured to release the molding template and the holding device such that the holding device is in a securing configuration that secures, via the clamp jaw, the first part of the plastic sheet to the first side of the molding template at the first longitudinal edge of the molding template. Methods for making the stair tread are described as well as the molded stair tread.
Bull nose stair nosing
A stair nosing comprising an elongate profile member having a back facing configured to abut a bull-nose of a stair tread, a front facing generally opposed to the back facing and a fixing arrangement for facilitating fixing to the bull-nose, wherein, which front facing comprises a longitudinal contact surface configured for contacting a stair tread user's foot and a longitudinal recess adjacent the longitudinal contact surface for receiving a flexible insert, the recess defining a recessed surface of the front facing and wherein the stair nosing is configured to engage with a multi-layer flooring element, which element is disposed on or for disposal on the stair tread, enables easy and effective re-fitting of stairs having a bull nose with multi-layer floor elements, such as LVT, LVP and WPC panels, without unduly compromising aesthetics or durability of the floor elements and without need to reconfigure the bull nose.
STAIR NOSING
A prefabricated stair nose for floor installations on stairs wherein the present invention is manufactured from wood or other suitable material. The stair nose of the present invention includes four embodiments wherein all four embodiments include a lower inset formation that is configured to be placed on an edge of a stair tread. The body of the present invention further includes an upper inset formation wherein the upper inset formation is configured to engage a portion of a wood floor plank. Two embodiments of the present invention further include a groove inset formation that is operable to mateable couple with a tongue formation of a wood floor plank. The body of the stair nosing of the present invention is provided with both an arcuate shaped front surface and a square shaped front surface.
Pre-Made Flooring Accessory
A flooring accessory item, such as a transition, stair nosing, stair tread, floor vent cover, molding, or other accessories, is configured with an outer dry adhesive film layer to which a decorative surface skin layer can attach. The outer adhesive film layer is utilized to receive and secure a decorative layer for exposure at a later date. In some implementations, the film layer may be covered with a protective release paper to protect or preserve the outer adhesive, depending on the adhesive film type. The adhesive film layer can consist of a single layer of a dry adhesive film without a carrier, such as an internal scrim. Alternatively, the adhesive film layer may include a scrim-reinforced adhesive film, a woven fabric, foil carrier coated on both sides with an adhesive film, or an adhesive component that is chemically, thermally, or electronically (radio wave) activated at the installation site.
TRANSPORTABLE AND PORTABLE BOARD BENDING MACHINE SYSTEM
A transportable/portable bending machine for arcuately contacting an end section of a synthetic resin or plastic composition planar member which includes a frame having a substantially planar frame base member. The machine includes a heating assembly mounted within the frame below the planar frame base member to heat an end section of the synthetic resin or plastic composition to a temperature which allows the end section to become pliable. A forming mechanism includes a cylindrical bar and a rotatable forming member for arcuately forming the end section of the resin or plastic composition planar member around the cylinder bar. An adjustment height mechanism adjusts the displacement distance between an upper surface of the planar frame base member and the cylindrical bar with an adjustable and rotatable lever mechanism connected to the forming mechanism for arcuately displacing the forming mechanism through a predetermined arc length.
