Panel clip and method for installation

A multi-component installation clip and method for installation of panel components. The multi-component installation clip includes a base member, a first clipping member and a second clipping member. Each of the first and second clipping members have clipping features. The first clipping feature and the second clipping feature are configured to engage each other and induce rotation as the first attachment portion and the second attachment portion are drawn together. The rotation induced is a pivoting of the first gripping portion and the second gripping portion about the center axis in a direction toward each other to grip a panel component. A second attachment portion includes an attachment feature arranged and disposed to engage a receiving portion of the base member.

A guardrail formed of folded sheet metal includes a face panel, a top panel extending rearwardly from the top edge of the face panel, a return panel extending downwardly from a return edge of the face panel, the return edge being opposite the top edge, and an end panel extending rearwardly from a side edge of the face panel and having the same width as the distance as the distance between the front surface of the face and the back surface of the return panel, the end panel having an upwardly extending upper portion being narrower than the main body of the end panel so that it is freely received in a downwardly facing channel formed by the face, top and return panels.

A panel mount system can secure a panel to a structure and allow adjustments to secure multiple panels. The system includes a channel that is secured to the structure and has parallel slots that can receive fasteners. The fasteners can be captured nuts or studs that can be secured within the slots. A threaded and flanged sleeve with a drive feature and flange can mate with the fasteners to adjust a distance between the flange and the channel. The panel has apertures that receive the threaded sleeves and the panel is secured thereto. The threaded sleeves can be adjusted with the panel in place by accessing their drive features through the apertures.
