System to deter external climbing of open stairs
The present invention provides a guard which is a surface that is adapted for mounting over the open end of the tread of a step of an open stairway such that when associated with a stairway: the exposed area of the OTEP is reduced. The present invention further provides for a retention means to maintain stable association of the guard with the stairway. The present invention further comprises kits comprising one or more guards, one or more retention means and instructions for use.

Systems and method for a barrier with interchangeable panels
A method and system for a barrier system configured to controllably block egress from and ingress to a predetermined area is provided. The barrier system includes a barrier panel including a barrier screen that is at least one of transparent and translucent such that viewing the predetermined area through the barrier system is permitted, the barrier screen is removable from the barrier panel and replaceable with another different barrier screen selectable by a user. The barrier system also includes a support device including an attachment assembly configured to support the barrier panel in a vertical orientation through a side of the barrier panel.
SAFETY GUARD TO A PREVENT CHILDREN FROM CLIMBING THE EXTERIOR OF A STAIR RAILING
A safety device to discourage and/or prevent children from climbing stairs on the exterior of the railing is detailed. This stair guard safety apparatus safeguards homes and protects children by shielding them from climbing to elevated positions on the outside of the railing, where the vertical drop is even more of a danger than inside the railings.
A screen or shield is used to discourage children from climbing the outside of a staircase. The screen is fastened to staircase structure. Fixed support for securing the screen is provided by structure available in the staircase (e.g., handrail, bannister, closures and/or its accoutrements). This screen support is provided, for example, by sandwiching, applying pressure, surrounding or otherwise fastening the screen to existing staircase parts, such as bannisters, balusters, closures, steps or other structure. In many embodiments, the stair guard apparatus is fastened in such a way that it does not damage the balusters and is removable.
Safety barrier for a deck or porch
A safety barrier is formed of framing, including a guard rail that defines the infill below the rail without the use of pickets. The infill is covered with mesh screen, which may be made of nylon which has greater tensile strength than conventional fiberglass. The mesh screen is held to the framing by an extruded base. The base has a central channel between two flat spline grooves. Flat splines hold mesh screen in their respective grooves more securely than conventional friction-based channel splines. A metal plate is positioned in the central channel to enables screws that secure the base to be tightened to hold it to the framing better. The elimination of pickets in the infill leaves the view unobstructed and allows other treatments of that portion of a deck or porch that are more aesthetically pleasing without compromising safety.
