Wood post bracket
A wood post bracket used for securing a post mount to a rim joist and a mounting blocks of a substructure of a deck's wood framing system includes a hollow sleeve defining an open rectangular passage, the open rectangular passage having four walls, a planar base forming a first wall of the four walls and a mounting plate forming a second wall of the four walls that is positioned opposite the first wall, such that the hollow sleeve is positioned between the planar base and the mounting plate and the planar base and the mounting plate are oriented parallel to each other.
Wooden newel with a clean surface and preparation method thereof
A wooden newel with a clean surface includes: an inner core; multiple outer wood layers arranged on an outer side surface of the inner core and connected in succession to form a closed structure; and a top wood cover provided on an upper surface or/and a lower surface of the inner core, where the outer wood layer and the top wood cover each are made of a high-grade timber; and the inner core is made of a low-grade timber, a finger-jointed timber or a glued timber. A preparation method for the wooden newel with a clean surface forms the double-layer wooden newel through the inner core and the outer wood layers and prepares the inner core from low-grade timber and the outer wood layers from high-grade timber, so as to reduce the overall cost of the wooden newel and improve the appearance effect of the wooden newel.
Dual-axis swivel bracket
A dual-axis swivel bracket for a deck railing section is disclosed. The bracket is simultaneously adjustable along a first axis and a perpendicular second axis. When one end of the bracket is attached to a post and the other is attached to a rail, the position of the rail may be moved through a wide range of motion to allow for a wide range of installation designs.
Hand rail system and associated components and methods
A hand rail system and associated methods. Newel posts of the hand rail system can be mounted in a top mount configuration or a lateral mount configuration. Mounts are receivable in a boot subassembly in a horizontal or vertical arrangement for anchoring the boot subassembly to substructure. After anchoring of the boot subassembly, a column subassembly may be installed and anchored. Openings in the boot and column subassemblies permit access to the interior of the newel post for anchoring the boot and column subassemblies and for connecting a hand rail to the column subassembly. Subsequent installation of covers on the boot subassembly and column subassembly closes the newel post and provides a finished appearance free of external indication that openings in the newel post existed and have been covered. Four-sided turned newels, newel panel retainers, and associated methods are also disclosed.
