The present disclosure relates systems and methods involving movable/adjustable guardrails. An example system includes at least one rotating mount having a lower weldment rotatably coupled to an upper weldment. The lower weldment is coupled to a walking surface. The system also includes a guardrail weldment coupled to the upper weldment of the at least one rotating mount. The system additionally includes an actuator configured to controllably adjust a configuration of the guardrail weldment between an extended configuration and a retracted configuration with respect to the walking surface. In some embodiments, the system could include a remote unit configured to control a position of the actuator. For example, the remote unit could include a wired remote controller having a user interface and at least one button.

The angle profile component is mountable to an edge of a flooring structure at the mount surface. The second upper support of the clamping profile component is attached to the first upper support of the angle profile component. Methods for installing a fascia rail system are also described.

A fall protection system for a substation transformer is provided where the substation transformer has a top surface with a lip extending about at least a portion of its periphery. The fall protection system includes a corner mounting assembly configured to couple at or adjacent to a corner of the substation transformer, the corner mounting assembly including a corner mounting element sized to receive a corner post from a rail assembly. A side mounting assembly having a u-shaped bracket is sized to engage the lip, the side mounting assembly having a first clamp positioned to engage the lip, the side mounting assembly further having a side mounting element sized to receive a side post from the rail assembly. The rail assembly includes a plurality of horizontal posts configured to couple with at least one on the corner post or the side post.

The apparatus comprises an expandable load bearing body (4) together with a means for expanding the body laterally in two dimensions within the ends of two hollow posts (7, 7). In one embodiment, the expansion means comprise threaded bores (8), set screws (2, 2) and contact pads (5) configured to spread the expansive forces within the inside surface of hollow posts (7, 7) in two dimensions. Methods for connecting two hollow posts using the apparatus are also described.
