Floor plank with foam core
09643377 · 2017-05-09 · ·

The floor member has a closed-cell foam core that constitutes approximately 50% of the overall thickness of the floor member. All constituents of the floor member, including a design layer, wear layer and resilient foam plastic underlayer, are highly water resistant and essentially water repellant. The closed-cell foam core is relatively lightweight and the floor member is also relatively lightweight compared to equally dimensioned floor planks formed exclusively of solid laminated plastic materials or wood-based laminated materials. The floor member has edge connecting means for convenient floating floor installation without the need to adhere the floor member to a floor base. The floor member is also easy to handle to permit a do-it-yourselfer to install a floor covering with the floor member.

Peel-and-set tile system

A peel-and-set tile system is disclosed for being installed onto a substrate, along with a corresponding method of manufacture and installation. The system provides, in an exemplary embodiment, a tile body. An underside surface of the tile body provides a contact adhesive array for securing the tile body to the substrate, the contact adhesive array being positioned and configured for forming a perimeter gasket continuously about a perimeter of the underside surface of the tile body when it is secured to the substrate. A peel-away release liner is applied over the contact adhesive array and configured to be removed therefrom when the tile body is to be installed onto the substrate. When the tile body is secured to the substrate, the perimeter gasket forms a bond that substantially prevents liquid or contaminants from getting between the underside surface of the tile body and the substrate or compromising the installation.

Porcelain board tile assemblies, systems, and methods for surface installations

The present disclosure provides embodiments of a porcelain board tile assembly. In an embodiment, assembly includes two or more porcelain board tiles cut from a reinforced porcelain panel product. A bottom surface of each porcelain board tiles to be adhesively affixed to a mounting wall when installed. Each reinforced porcelain panel product includes a porcelain slab and a structural core board. The structural core board includes a foam-core material having a surface area and a thickness greater than the porcelain slab. A top surface of the structural core board is positioned in contact with a bottom surface of the porcelain slab with an adhesive. A buffer region, defined by regions of the structural core board extending beyond outer peripheries of the porcelain slab, enhances protection from cracking when the reinforced porcelain panel product is handled. The structural core board is configured to attach to the mounting wall.

Reinforced porcelain panel product fabrication methods for enhanced structural protection

The present disclosure provides embodiments of a method a reinforced porcelain panel product for renovations or new constructions. In an embodiment, a method includes applying an adhesive to a top surface of a structural core board that includes a foam-core material. Further, the method continues with abuttingly contacting the structural core board to a bottom surface of a porcelain slab with the adhesive such that regions of the structural core board substantially extend beyond outer peripheries of the porcelain slab to define buffer regions, thereby to allow the buffer regions to be visible and to enhance protection from cracking when the reinforced porcelain panel product is handled. Additional features include the bottom surface of the structural core board having a second surface area larger than the first surface area of the porcelain slab and a fracture toughness greater than the porcelain slab.

EXTERIOR POLYMER-BASED BRICK BUILDING MATERIAL

A simulated brick includes a polymeric core member, a mesh layer adhered to the core member, a basecoat layer covering an entirety of the mesh layer, and a finish layer covering an entirety of the basecoat layer. The core member, the mesh layer, the basecoat layer, and the finish layer together define a brick profile portion having first and second lateral sides extending to a planar outer surface to define a first thickness, and an offset portion extending from the first lateral side of the brick profile portion to a lateral end surface and having an outer surface defining a second thickness smaller than the first thickness, the brick profile portion and the offset portion together defining a planar rectangular base surface extending from the second lateral side of the brick profile portion to the lateral end surface of the offset portion.

Floor and wall panel system

A decorative wall system is provided that includes a number of panels that can be secured to an underlying wall and to one another in an overlapping configuration to provide a multi-layer, three-dimensional appearance to the wall. In one embodiment of the wall system, the system includes individual panels that include a decorative front surface and a rear surface. The rear surface includes undercuts along each side of the rear surface that can be positioned over the side edges of the front surface of an adjacent wall panel. The panels may each include an adhesive layer including compressible strings therein that assist the adhesive in holding the panel on a surface by forming a vacuum between the panel and the surface to which the panel is attached.
