A panel for a wall treatment and a method of manufacture thereof. The panel includes a panel block cast from a material. During casting, a first bracket, a second bracket, and an insulator block are partially embedded within the material. The insulator block, which is a lighter weight foam material, is embedded between the first and second brackets such that part of the insulator block will extend beyond a rear of the panel block once cast. Once cast, part of the first bracket extends upwardly beyond a top of the panel block and part of the second bracket angles downwardly and outwardly from the rear of the panel block and a distance below the insulator block. The second bracket is used to align the panel on a support surface. The first bracket is used to secure the panel to the support surface.

Vertical joint system and associated surface covering system
10000935 · 2018-06-19 · ·

A vertical joint system 10 for substrates 12 is formed with joints Jm and Jf which engaged by relative motion in a direction perpendicular to major surfaces 14 and 16 of the substrate 12. The joints are configured to enable relative rotation of up to 3 degrees (i.e. clockwise or anticlockwise) while maintaining engagement of the joints. The joints Jm and Jf are further configured to form two locking planes 18, 20 one on each of the inner and outer most sides of the joint. Engagement about the locking planes 18, 20 is provided by transverse outward extending surfaces Cm1, Cm2, Cf1 and Cf2. The surface Cf1 and Cf2 overhang the surfaces Cm1 and Cm2. At least one surface in each pair of engaging surfaces: Cf1 and Cm1; and, Cf2 and Cm2 is smoothly curved. The joints Jm and Jf can be further arranged to provide a third locking plane 74 parallel to and between the locking planes 18, 20. The joints are disengaged by combination of a downward rotation of one joint relative the other then application of a downward force. By virtue of these features flooring with the joint system can be laid on sub-surfaces which have undulations greater than current world industry standards. Additionally replacement of damaged substrates is possible by vertical lifting of damaged substrates without the need to pull up excess flooring from the closest wall to the damaged substrates.

A stay-in-place lining is provided for lining a structure fabricated from concrete. The lining comprises a plurality of panels connectable via complementary connector components on their longitudinal edges. Each panel comprises a first connector component on a first longitudinal edge thereof and a second (complementary) connector component on a second longitudinal edge thereof. The lining comprises at least one edge-to-edge connection between the first connector component of a first panel and the second connector component of a second panel, the edge-to-edge connection comprising a protrusion of the first panel extended into a receptacle of the second panel through a receptacle opening. The receptacle is shaped to prevent removal of the protrusion from the receptacle and the receptacle is resiliently deformed by the extension of the protrusion into the receptacle to thereby apply a restorative force to the protrusion to maintain the edge-to-edge connection.
