Methods for manufacturing panels and panel obtained thereby

A method may be provided for manufacturing coated panels of the type including at least a substrate and a top layer with a motif. The top layer may be provided on the substrate. The method may involve providing a synthetic material layer on the substrate. A relief may be provided on the surface of the synthetic material layer provided on the substrate. The relief may include a pattern of recesses and/or projections. The relief may be obtained by providing a mask on or in the synthetic material layer. The mask may enable a selective treatment of the synthetic material layer. A material-removing treatment or a material-depositing treatment may be performed on the synthetic material layer, such that the mask at least partially determines the pattern.

Floor panel

A floor panel includes a substrate and a top layer provided on the substrate. The top layer is composed of a print and a transparent thermoplastic layer having a thickness of 0.5 mm or less and being situated above said print. The floor panel, at least on two opposite edges, is provided with a straight or curved chamfer extending to below the global level of the print.

Seating arrangement system

A seating arrangement system for securing the spacing of a predetermined arrangement of seating is provided. The seating arrangement system embodies a plurality of movable tiles forming a supporting surface for securing the predetermined arrangement of movable seats, wherein each tile associated with a vertical member of each seat is selectively pivoted to an opening configuration, exposing a base aperture into which the vertical member is secured. The remaining tiles being selectively maintained in the closed configuration, providing an even surface for traversing about the predetermined arrangement of movable seats.

A relief may be provided on the surface of said synthetic material layer provided on the substrate. The relief may include a pattern of recesses. The pattern may be at least partially determined by at least one print that is applied by inkjet printing. The relief may be obtained by printing a mask directly on the synthetic material layer. After providing the mask, the synthetic material layer may be cured. The mask may provide for selective curing of the synthetic material layer, such that the synthetic material layer is not solidified or solidified at a lesser extent in correspondence of the mask. The not solidified or less solidified portions of the synthetic material layer may be removed by performing a material-removing treatment on the synthetic material layer thereby obtaining the relief. The material-removing treatment may involve removing the mask.

Floor panel

A floor panel may include a substrate having a top side and a bottom side. A top layer may be provided on the substrate. The top layer may consist of a printed thermoplastic film and a thermoplastic transparent or translucent layer provided on the printed thermoplastic film. The top layer may be directly applied to the substrate using a glue layer available between the printed thermoplastic film and the top side of the substrate. The substrate may be an extruded synthetic material board including a filler selected from the group consisting of chalk, wood and sand. The substrate at least at two opposite edges may include coupling means provided in the extruded synthetic material board. The floor panel may have a thickness of 5 to 10 millimeters.

Mechanical locking of floor panels with vertical snap folding

Floor panels are shown, which are provided with a mechanical locking system on long and short edges allowing installation with vertical snap folding that could be accomplished automatically without tools and where the short edge locking system has a tongue made in one piece with the panel.

Floor panel made of plastic having mechanical locking edges

Floor panel (1) has a carrier layer (2) which is a plastic material that is pliable and elastic at an application temperature of the flooring. A decorative layer (3) is disposed above the carrier layer (2). Complementary mechanical locking profiles (8, 9) provided on at least two panel edges (1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 11, 12). The locking profiles cooperating in the locked state of two floor panels (1) and counter-acting a moving apart of the floor panels (1). At least one panel edge (1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 11, 12) has an edge break-away point (4) at the edge of the decorative layer (3).

Vertical Joint System for a Surface Covering Panel

A vertical joint system (10a) for a surface covering panel P having an upper and lower surfaces (16, 18) a plurality of sides (20, 22, 24, 26) located between the upper and lower surfaces. The joint system (10a) has a male part (12) along at least one side (20) and a female part (14) along an opposite side (14). The female part (14) has a protrusion (54) that extends from the lower surface (18) and an outer most female surface (72) on the protrusion (54). The male part (12) has a recess (30) that opens onto the lower surface (18) with a portion of the recess (18) forming an inner most male surface (40). The outer most female surface (72) and the inner most male surface (40) arranged so that when the male part (12) of one surface covering panel is engaged with a female part (14) of a second surface covering panel the outer most female surface (72) overlies the inner most male locking surface (40) at a first location L1 and a second location L2. Datum surfaces (34, 62) are also provided on the male and female parts respectively that are pressed when the male and female parts contact at the location L1. This acts as a clasp to hold the male and female parts together, resisting vertical separation.

Floor panel

A floor may include a substrate having a top side and a bottom side. A top layer may be provided on the substrate. The top layer may consist of a printed thermoplastic film and a thermoplastic transparent or translucent layer provided on the printed thermoplastic film. The top layer may be directly adhered to the substrate by heat welding the printed thermoplastic film and the top side of the substrate, in the absence of a glue layer. The substrate may be a synthetic material board including a filler. The substrate at least at two opposite edges may include coupling means provided in the synthetic material board. The thermoplastic transparent or translucent layer may be provided with a structure.

Panel and method of manufacture

A panel, in particular a floor panel, has a core of a wooden material, in particular MDF or HDF, or a wooden material/plastic mixture. A pattern is arranged on a visible side. The visible side is provided on at least one side edge (I, II) with a chamfer running at an angle α hereto and a length (L). The angle α of at least one of the chamfers varies over the length (L).
