Engineered Plank and its Manufacturing Method
20180178487 · 2018-06-28 ·

A plank is described and a method for manufacturing the plank. The plank can be produced by mixing polyvinyl chloride powder, coarse whiting and light calcium compound powder, stabilizer, polyethylene wax, internal lubricant, plasticizer, and impact modifier together, and stirring this mixture. The mixture is then extruded through an extruder compound to form a plastic composite base material. A surface layer is then tiled onto the plastic composite base material using thermal compression, without the use of intermediate adhesive materials. The surface layer can be embossed when it is combined with the mixture being extruded.

A flooring system includes a plurality of individual flooring pieces, such as floor panels, each having a wear surface, an opposing mounting surface and a retention groove disposed within the mounting surface. A floor panel connector used to interconnect at least two of the floor panels has a base, at least one mast extending from an upper surface of the base and a pair of flexible arms. Each flexible arm extends transversely from opposing sides of the at least one mast and has an extending end. Contacting portions extending from a lower surface of the base are configured to engage the support surface and create a spacing between each flexible arm and the support surface to permit each flexible arm to elastically deflect toward the support surface when pressure is exerted on a floor panel. This deflection enables the extending end of each flexible arm to engage the retention groove of a corresponding floor panel.

An illustrative embodiment of a tile and support structure may include a plurality of tiles, which may be generally rectangular in shape, engaged with one or more support structures. The tile may be formed with four edges, wherein two opposing edges may be formed with grooves therein and the other two opposing edges may be formed with protrusions thereon. The support structure may be formed with a generally vertical spine having two rails extending outward from a distal end thereof. The support structure may also include two generally horizontally extending flanges, which may be formed with a trough therein. The trough may include a plurality of apertures formed therein. One side of the trough may be defined by a lip.

FLOORBOARD UNIT AND FLOORBOARD CONNECTING STRUCTURE

A floorboard unit and a floorboard connecting structure are disclosed in the application. The floorboard unit includes a floorboard body and a connecting post. The connecting post is located at an end edge of a lower surface of the floorboard body, and an end of the connecting post is provided with a hooking part folded in a direction toward an end of the floorboard body, and the hooking part is of an approximate trapezoidal structure, and the hooking part is provided with an introduction sloping face for auxiliary clamping. The floorboard connecting structure according to the disclosure is of a locking type, so it can be paved without glue due to a locking force, which is safe and environment-friendly. A whole structure may extend all around with change of temperature, and there will be no problems such as uplift or cracking due to the change of temperature.

Versatile Modular Flooring Device and System

A modular flooring system is disclosed to accommodate non-planar configurations of modular floor mats. Modular mats each have a main central portion and overhanging and underhanging flanges extending therefrom. The outer surfaces of the mats have treads formed thereon, which may be of different grades, such as industrial or pedestrian grade. Each flange contains a plurality of bores, each comprising a recess at opposing mat surfaces connected by a central portion. The recess depth at one mat surface differs from the recess depth at the opposing surface, creating an offset spacing to account for surface tread regardless of mat overlay and configuration. A fastener, having a head and opposite foot, is inserted through aligned bores in adjacent mats and rotated to lock or unlock mats in each configuration. The modular flooring system provides increased utility through enabling planar, stacked, and stepped configurations of the system.
