Static dissipative flooring system

A magnetically adhered, static dissipative floor covering comprises a magnetically receptive floor surface, and a floor covering comprising a plurality of static dissipative, magnetic floor tiles. The magnetic floor tiles are held in place by magnetic interaction between the magnetic floor tiles and the magnetically receptive floor surface. Each of the magnetic floor tiles is a composite construction comprising a static dissipative vinyl wear layer, an integral, conductive ground plane, and an integral, planar magnetic layer. The conductive ground plane comprises a non-woven synthetic fabric with a nickel-copper coating and a conductive adhesive backing. The conductive ground plane is bonded to the static dissipative wearing layer by the conductive adhesive backing.

The present invention relates generally to a tile or panel having at least one magnetic material embedded therein, and fully or partially covered with at least one layer of parchment. The invention also encompasses at least one discrete permanent magnet that is placed at an appropriate location within a panel or tile, and wherein at least a portion of the panel or tile and the at least one magnet are then optionally covered with at least one layer of at least one barrier material, and then at least one parchment layer partially or fully envelopes this assembly. The inventive tile having at least one magnetic type material can have at least one indicia or design on at least one surface, and the inventive tile can be magnetically attached to a wall or another panel having at least one magnetic type material to form a wall or panel surface.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR CREATING GIRIH STRAPWORK PATTERNS

A kit that includes multiple rectilinear elongate polygonal elements having five unique shapes, four of which are concave polygonal elements. In some examples, when arranged with respect to one another, the elements of the kit form a girih strapwork pattern. In one aspect, respective elements in a kit may include bezels or boarders along longer sides to enhance an over/under weaving effect of the girih strapwork pattern. In other aspects, one or more elements may be formed as a tray, and some of the trays may include various components or materials disposed in the tray (e.g., architectural surface materials, biological systems, various electronic components) to provide for a variety of creative designs and structural/sculptural installations for built environments. In some implementations, one or more such trays may have beveled rims so as to appear light and thin when viewed.

Magnetic floor surface

The present invention is directed to a method for providing a surface, in particular a floor surface, with a layer of a magnetic and/or magnetizable cover composition, the surface having at least one layer of cementitious material, wherein the method comprises the step of spreading the layer of the cover composition onto the surface, the cover composition comprising a polymeric binder and magnetic and/or magnetizable particles, characterized in that the layer of the cover composition has a water vapor transmission rate of at least 0.25 g h.sup.1 m.sup.2 according to ASTM D1653, and the surface and/or the layer of cementitious material has a relative humidity of more than 75% according to ASTM F 2170-11.

WINGED INSERT FOR ATTACHING TO SLOT OF BOARD AND PLURALITY OF BOARD MOUNTING METHODS THEREOF

A winged insert holds a magnet and includes a flat base having two sides with wings that have U-shape or V-shape. Each side's wing extends off the side of the base in a first direction and then curves back at an outward-facing angle. The wings act similar to barbs or arrow heads to allow the insert to be inserted into a slot on a trim or decking board while preventing the insert from being removed from the slot after insertion. The winged insert may include alignment holes or pins for positioning a removable spacer adjacent the winged insert. The spacer may include a tray or other sidewalls on an opposite side for holding a magnetic conductor. For trim applications, the conductor may be affixed to a wall during an installation process before removing the spacer. For flooring applications, the conductor may be a top metal surface of a joist clip.
