CHEMILUMINESCENT WETNESS INDICATOR FOR ABSORBENT PRODUCTS
Disclosed herein are fluff pulp compositions, absorbent articles comprising the fluff pulp compositions, and related methods. The fluff pulp compositions comprise a chemiluminescent system configured to produce visible light upon contact with an aqueous system. Representative absorbent articles include disposable diapers and adult incontinence products. Representative chemiluminescent systems include bioluminescent systems.
TISSUE SEALANT COMPOSITIONS, VASCULAR CLOSURE DEVICES, AND USES THEREOF
The present invention provides tissue sealant compositions and vasculature closure devices useful for the optical detection of tissue seal and/or clot formation. Compositions and devices of the present invention comprise optical dyes which undergo an observable change as the compositions and/or devices are incorporated into a tissue seal and/or clot, for example a change in fluorescence quantum yield and/or a change in visual color including a change in emission and/or absorption wavelength. Tissue sealants and vasculature closure devices of the present invention are useful for visualizing seal and/or clot formation, for example, during or after surgical procedures, after catheter removal, etc. The present invention further provides methods for formation and optical detection of tissue seals or vasculature puncture closures as well as medical kits useful for the formation and optical detection of tissue seals or vasculature puncture closures.

Antimicrobial housing and cover for a medical device
A method for immobilizing dyes and antimicrobial agents on a polymeric cover or housing for a medical device is disclosed and described. The surface may be that of a catheter, a connector, a drug vial spike, a bag spike, a prosthetic device, an endoscope, a surface of an infusion pump, a key pad, a touch screen or a handle. The surfaces may also be one or more of those associated with a infusion of a medicament or dialysis treatment, such as peritoneal dialysis or hemodialysis, where it is important that the working surface for the dialysis fluid be sterile. These surfaces include connectors for peritoneal dialysis sets or for hemodialysis sets, bag spikes, dialysis catheters, and so forth. A method for determining whether a surface has been sterilized, and a dye useful in so indicating, is also disclosed.
PHOTOINITIATING POLYMERISABLE COMPOSITION
The present invention provides a method of producing a visual marking on the exterior of a human or animal body. There is also provided a method of forming a polymer within a human or animal body. The resultant polymer generally has an electrical conductivity of 10.sup.10 S/cm or more.
Tissue-joining member, and use thereof
This tissue-joining member comprises non-crosslinked fibrous collagen. A laminate body comprises: a support; a joining member that is layered on one surface of the support; and a first adhesive layer that is layered on said one surface of the support in a region on which the joining member is not layered. The method for using the joining member or the laminate body comprises: a heating step in which the joining member or the laminate body is heated to less than 60? C. and greater than body temperature after having being layered on the tissue; and a cooling step in which the heated joining member or laminate body is cooled to body temperature or lower. A treatment system comprises a heating unit and the joining member or the laminate body.
CHEMICAL TISSUE ABLATION WITH HYDROGEL MATRIX AND CORRESPONDING MEDICAL APPLICATIONS
Compositions, methods, and applications for ablative-chemical infused hydrogels are described. The hydrogels are biodegradable and can be formed in situ. The hydrogels are effective for delivering tissue ablative chemicals to target sites. The hydrogel delivered tissue ablative chemicals can be particularly effective for performing intrauterine ablation, even when fibroids are present, or for scarring fallopian tubes for birth control via minimally invasive procedures. The hydrogels can also be particularly effective at avoiding contact of tissue ablative chemicals with off-target tissues. The hydrogels can be installed using various delivery vehicles, including injections and catheters. The hydrogels can be designed to be retained in the target site for a period of hours to days, so that targeted tissue ablation can proceed in an ambulatory patient. Methods for transcervical installation of in situ formed hydrogels into the uterus or one or more fallopian tubes are described.
SKIN-AUGMENTING SURGICAL SUTURES
The present invention relates to surgical sutures and threads for introducing skin-augmenting materials into human tissues, such as the skin.
Chemiluminescent wetness indicator for absorbent products
Disclosed herein are fluff pulp compositions, absorbent articles comprising the fluff pulp compositions, and related methods. The fluff pulp compositions comprise a chemiluminescent system configured to produce visible light upon contact with an aqueous system. Representative absorbent articles include disposable diapers and adult incontinence products. Representative chemiluminescent systems include bioluminescent systems.
TISSUE FILLER COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF USE
The present disclosure relates to methods for stimulating collagen synthesis, cosmetic enhancement of soft tissue and/or inhibiting or treating scarring comprising administering a composition to an area to be treated within a soft tissue, wherein the composition comprises a tissue filler medium and a fluorophore; and illuminating the area with light having a wavelength which can be absorbed by the fluorophore.
