System and method for securing power and communications cables and associated hardware within crown molding
10082227 · 2018-09-25 ·

A system for crown molding that enables safely incorporating electrical and communications cabling within crown molding by creating one or more protected paths which inherently prevent overly sharp bends in crown molding corners and by mitigating damage from penetrating punctures through a decorated face designed to fracture when improperly penetrated by a screw or nail, and enables the secure installation of hardware either concealed within the molding or securely and favorably positioned through the decorative face to view or sense a room, and enables additional cable capacity that is concealed within a light reflector to increase lighting efficacy as well as power and data delivery capacity.

A crown molding assembly that enables safely incorporating electrical and communications cabling within the crown molding by providing segregated compartments for electrical and copper communications cabling, wherein the decorative face is formed of a composite of fiber reinforcing polymer (FRP) including a fiber-reinforced structure having an increased directionality of said reinforcing fibers causing the decorative face to fracture upon being pierced by a fastener in a manner that renders the damaged section of the decorative face unable to hold the fastener, protecting the electrical cables and any other equipment located behind the decorative face from damage, and enables the secure installation of hardware either concealed within the molding or securely and favorably positioned through the decorative face to view or sense a room, and enables additional cable capacity that is concealed within a light reflector to increase lighting efficacy and power and data delivery capacity.

BUILDING SKIRTING BASE

A mobile home skirting base comprising: a horizontal surface; and two substantially equal, substantially symmetrical vertical surfaces co-extruded with the horizontal surface forming a channel to insert a mobile home skirting panel wherein the vertical surfaces each having an inwardly oriented retention edge that secure the mobile home skirting panel. The height of the vertical surfaces and the inward orientation of the vertical surfaces' retention edges, along with the other aspects of the invention, allows the mobile home skirting base to provide strong support, stabilization, and protection of the skirting panels.

ELONGATED UTILITY RECEIVER

An elongated utility receiver is configured to receive a panel. The utility receiver includes an inner wall that is configured to be attached to a mounting surface, a transverse wall extending away from the inner wall, and an outer wall extending from the transverse wall opposite the inner wall. The outer wall is spaced from the inner wall. A channel is defined by the inner wall, outer wall, and transverse wall and defines a total offset gap between the outer and inner walls. The channel is configured to receive a portion of the panel. A biasing element is flexibly attached to the outer wall and extends toward the inner wall. The biasing element variably closes the channel to an effective gap that is less than the total offset gap. The biasing element is configured to bias the panel element toward the inner wall.

Cove Flashing Base Support
20170183879 · 2017-06-29 ·

The present invention relates to a polymeric cove base support for installation where flooring meets a wall, comprising extruded straight portions and molded exterior corner and end portions. The cove base support comprises an upper wall portion, a lower toe portion and an intermediate curved or concave cove. The wall portion is substantially perpendicular to the toe portion. The curved cove comprises an outer cove surface for facing the wall-floor interface and a spaced apart inner curved cove surface facing the room when installed. The spacing between the two curved coves for the straight portion creates an open area, where the open area includes a supporting or reinforcing bar juxtaposed between the curves, preferably positioned perpendicular between the two curve coves in the center region of the open area, and extending the length of the cove base. The corner and end portions have outside surfaces facing the wall and a floor, the outside surfaces defined in part by spaced ribs extending perpendicular to each of the toe and wall portions.

ASSEMBLY FOR COPING AND MOUNTING TRIM MOLDING

A concealed slide-on molding/trim attachment method reduces the work effort and materials involved to refinish walls, ceilings, or anywhere molding/trim, henceforth called trim, is attached using the conventional nailing method. When removing the existing trim, this invention eliminates the damage to the trim, walls, and ceilings, along with the issues previously associated with the current fastening process. With this invention, refinishing or renovation of the trim, walls, ceilings or any other associated building components can be completed without damage to surrounding surfaces or the existing trim, making the trim reusable. This is a simple way to attach and detach the trim when compared to the current nailing method or use of other fasteners. During initial construction, this invention also reduces time and man-hours for installation.
