NONWOVEN JOINT TAPE HAVING LOW MOISTURE EXPANSION PROPERTIES AND METHOD FOR USING SAME
The invention is directed to a joint tape for finishing a joint between boards comprising a nonwoven substrate that does not swell substantially in the presence of water. The invention further provides a method of finishing a joint between boards comprising (i) applying a joint tape of the invention to a joint between boards by embedding the joint tape in a first coat of joint compound, (ii) applying a second coat of joint compound over the tape, wherein step (ii) is carried out before the joint tape and joint compound applied in step (i) have substantially dried, and optionally (iii) applying a third fill or finish coat of joint compound over the tape, wherein step (iii) is carried out before the joint tape and second coat have substantially dried.
Floor protector
A floor protector for a security access system, comprising a rigid floor assembly having front and rear edges, the floor assembly comprising at least one floor plate and a base mounted underneath the floor plate, the base being at least partially spaced from the floor plate enabling cabling to pass between the two, and elastomeric entry and exit ramps supporting the front and rear edges of the floor assembly; wherein the base has protrusions at its front and rear edges which locate within respective grooves in respective elastomeric ramps, spaced a distance above the lower surface of the ramp, so as to support the base spaced above the whole or a major part of the floor that it overlies.
Modular Trim Assembly
A modular trim assembly for finishing seams around exterior building structures, such as windows and doors. The modular trim assembly includes a U-shaped base unit having a channel formed in a pair of sidewalls extending a length of the base unit. A pair of L-shaped side units slide into each channel and form an underside beneath a building structure. An exterior unit disposed secured to the top surface of the base unit, wherein the exterior unit receives an over trim section that forms the trim disposed around the exterior of the building structure. In an assembled configuration, a gap is formed between the side units and over trim sections, wherein the gap can receive siding or a window frame within the gap.
Tapered edge drywall connector
A joint connector for connecting abutting edges of tapered drywall is provided that includes a base, a column projecting forward from said base, and mud legs extending generally perpendicular to said column forming pockets for receipt of tapered edges of said drywall.
METHODS OF FASTENING A WALL PANEL TO A WALL, KITS, AND WALL ASSEMBLIES
A method of fastening a wall panel to a wall, according to one illustrative embodiment, comprises coupling a retaining body to a mounting body mounted on an outer surface of the wall adjacent a side edge of the wall panel. Coupling the retaining body to the mounting body may comprise coupling a first connector on an inner surface of the retaining body to a second connector on the mounting body, and positioning a retainer on the retaining body against a retaining surface on the wall panel to fasten the wall panel to the wall. Kits and wall assemblies according to other illustrative embodiments are also disclosed.
Locking connection assembly and mounting method
A snap-fit connection arrangement includes groove and tongue strips respectively having a groove and tongue, and first and second attachment regions for placement along first and second components, respectively. The groove and tongue strips respectively extend in first and second longitudinal directions transversely to their respective cross sections. Cross-sectional contours of the tongue and the groove correspond to each other through use of latching elements so that a snap-fit connection can be established as the tongue is inserted in a joining direction into the groove. The snap-fit connection allows for relative movement between the tongue and groove strips along at least one of the longitudinal directions and prevents relative movement between the tongue and groove strips transversely to at least one of the longitudinal directions. The tongue includes a latching recess comprising an undercut that extends along and within the tongue and is configured for latching engagement with a rib.
Transition moulding
The present invention provides a transition moulding comprised of an elongate piece having three strips of adhesive material, a plurality of holes, and thin lateral beveled edges. The holes are for embedding adhesive or mortar as well as placing mechanical fasteners to secure the moulding to the sub floor. The adhesive bands are for securing the flooring material and the central adhesive band is for placing a clip that is configured and sized to hold a T separator placed between the two flooring materials. There is also a crease to facilitate the folding or breaking of the moulding for when it is used against a wall or at the end of a floor such as on door sills or staircase.
