TEMPORARY BUILDING EDGE SAFETY SCREEN SUPPORT
A support for a safety net proximate an edge of a floor of a building under construction; the support comprising a support post extending between an upper bracket and a lower bracket. According to another broad form of the present invention there is provided a method of installing a safety net proximate an exposed edge of a building under construction; the method includes the steps of: driving securing bolts into an underside of an adjacent higher floor and into a safety net supporting floor, securing an upper bracket and a lower bracket respectively to the securing bolts of the higher floor and of the safety net supporting floor, securing an upper end of a safety net support post to the upper bracket and a lower end of the safety net support post to the lower bracket.
Adjustable Toe Board
An adjustable toe board that is capable of adjustment to a number of varying lengths to accommodate various platform sizing. An exemplary embodiment of the invention includes a locking mechanism for use with the adjustable toe board to retain the toe board in its retracted position when necessary for transport, storage, or when the size of the portion of the platform the toe board will be used in requires the toe board to be in its fully collapsible state. A uniquely shaped wedge pin may be utilized to accommodate various sizes of posts when connecting a non-adjustable or an adjustable toe board to scaffolds and the like.
Adjustable platform extension bracket for work platform systems and related methods
An adjustable platform extension bracket for work platform systems comprises a post member having two posts joined by a plurality of positional structures. A first connection portion forms a first channel such that the first connection portion is symmetrical along an axis parallel with and passing through the channel. The post member is slidingly engaged in the first channel such that at least one of the positional structures is positionable in the channel. The bracket does not require any diagonal support. The dimensions of work platforms, particularly suspended work platform systems, may be extended using the adjustable platform extension bracket.
Collapsible safety barrier and support post
A collapsible safety barrier and support post for releasably securing between a ceiling structure and a floor structure. The safety barrier and support post comprises a plurality of longitudinal rails hingedly secured to a first end post and to a second end post, an extension rail releasably engageable with the second end post, and a latching mechanism to releasably secure the extension rail to the second end post. The safety barrier has a deployed position and a collapsed position. When in its deployed position the barrier is secured between a floor and a ceiling structure. When in its collapsed position the longitudinal rails, the first and second end posts, and the extension rail are positioned generally parallel and adjacent to one another.
RECONFIGURABLE STANCHION AND GUARDRAIL SYSTEM
A reconfigurable stanchion for supporting a guardrail on a support surface has a substantially vertically oriented elongated guardrail support configured to support a guardrail, a mounting arm configured to reversibly receive the guardrail support and an adjustable fastening assembly releasably attached to the mounting arm. The ability to reversibly mount the guardrail support on different portions of the mounting arm and the ability to relocate and reconfigure the fastening assembly on the mounting arm permits the use of the same stanchion in a guardrail system for a variety of different support surfaces, including balconies, open-hole ledges, flat roofs and parapet roofs.
DEVICE FOR LOCKING DOWN SCAFFOLD BOARDS
A device for locking down a board of a platform supported on transoms connected between standards of a scaffold, including a riser adapted to be positioned lengthwise of one of the standards, a keeper positioned transversely of the riser to hold the board in place and a coupling to engage a fitting on the standard to lock the device in position.
Modular roof mounted staging bracket with safety rails
An apparatus for supporting workers and materials above-grade on both the eave and gable ends of a structure is disclosed. The apparatus can be combined with one or more additional staging apparatuses to create a staging system for the support of persons or materials while work is being done on a structure, e.g., roofing, siding, etc. The modular design of the apparatus simplifies installation, such that it can be readily attached to a roof or other support member of a structure by a single person, and facilitates the adjustable vertical positioning of people or materials along the walls of the structure. The staging system can also include a rail member for safety support and alternative scaffolding arrangements.
Lockable Scaffold Toeboard System
A scaffold toeboard system for locking a toeboard between two vertical scaffold members where each vertical scaffold member includes a tubular member having a diameter and an outer shape. The toeboard system includes a toeboard having an elongated member with a fixed terminating end and an adjustable terminating end. The toeboard further includes a front portion, a top edge, a bottom edge and a rear portion. The toeboard system further includes a locking mechanism slidably mounted to the adjustable terminating end, where the locking mechanism includes a lock member body with a front edge and two fingers positioned on said locking mechanism and extending outwardly from the front edge of the locking member. The two fingers separated by a horizontal distance of about the diameter of a scaffold vertical member. The locking mechanism further includes a lock, where the lock is actuatable to fix the position of the lock member body with respect to the toeboard. The fixed terminating end is shaped to engage a scaffold vertical member.
Scaffold Clamp
A clamp for use in securing a toeboard in scaffolding. The clamp has a laterally extending slot with an associated first screw fastener; and an upwardly extending slot with an associated second screw fastener. The clamp is formed such that the laterally extending slot can be manoeuvred by hand to extend around a longitudinal edge of a scaffolding deck and the first fastener can be screw turned (eg by hand) to press against the scaffolding deck. The clamp is also formed such that a toeboard can be stood up in the upwardly extending slot and the second fastener can be screw turned (eg by hand) to press against the toeboard to secure it to the clamp.
