The invention relates to an apparatus for separating out grains of seed, fertilizer or the like, having a separating device (1) that works on the overpressure principle. The separating device (1) has the following: a housing (2), which is formed with a housing base (3) to be mounted on a frame or on a drill row of an agricultural machine and with a housing cover (30, 4), which is arranged on the housing base (3) in a releasable manner for opening and closing a housing interior (14); a grain sump (19), which is designed to receive grains of seed, fertilizer or the like that have been introduced into the housing interior (14) and are to be separated out; a separating disc, which is mounted in a rotatable manner in the housing interior (14) and has an arrangement of openings; an overpressure region, which is formable in the housing cover (30, 4) on a front side of the separating disc during operation, such that a flow is formable from the overpressure region through the openings to the rear side of the separating disc and grains separated as a result are able to be localized in the region of the openings or adjacently thereto; and a grain transfer device (10), which is formed with a feed (15), a wall bushing (20) and an outlet (21) at the housing cover (30, 4), wherein the separated grains, after being detached from the separating disc, can be introduced through the feed (15) into the wall bushing (20) and be discharged from the housing interior (14) through said wall bushing (20) via the outlet (21). Furthermore, a seed meter and a drill row, and a method for separating out grains of seed, fertilizer or the like by means of a separating device (1) that works on the overpressure principle are disclosed.
