AN IMPROVED FENCING ELEMENT
20170321449 · 2017-11-09 ·

This invention relates to a fencing element which includes at least one wire support for a wire, wherein the fencing element includes an elongate body, characterised in that the at least one wire support includes at least one groove and at least one protruding member, wherein a line is defined along the length of the at least one groove, and at least a portion of the protruding member intersects the line. The invention has particular application to the mounting and supporting of fencing wire on the fencing element.

HIGH TENSION CABLE BARRIER FOR ROADWAYS
20170268189 · 2017-09-21 ·

A barrier fence for use along the side of a roadway to contain a vehicle that travels off of the roadway into the barrier fence. The fence includes horizontal fence members which are typically cables supported by a plurality of posts supported vertically by the ground. The horizontal fence members are held to the posts with hooks that extend from slots defined by the posts. The horizontal fence members are placed in tension in normal use. Each post has a wide, flat, contact surface across the front of the post for the horizontal fence member to contact on either side of the slot that receives the hook that holds the horizontal fence member. The fence provides posts with flat front surfaces substantially wider than the width of the slot to increase the length of engagement between the post surface and the horizontal fence member.

A fence batten is formed from an elongated post having an outer surface surrounding a longitudinal axis. An angled slot is formed through the outer surface of the post. The angled slot defines an upper slot surface and a lower slot surface. The upper slot surface lies in a plane defining an acute angle with respect to the longitudinal axis. A first hole penetrates the outer surface and the upper slot surface, and a second hole concentrically aligned with the first hole penetrates the lower slot surface, so that barbed wire may be pulled into the angled slot and anchored therein by a pin passing through the first and second holes. A system for forming the aforesaid fence batten is also disclosed.

Guide device and method for constructing a fence

A guide device (10) is disclosed for constructing a wire or cable fence. The device (10) is arranged for contact with, and movement along, strands of pretensioned wire or cable (64) which form the fence wires. The guide device (10) has a number of rotatable members (16) on a generally horizontal axis of rotation, which are each arranged in use to support one of the strands (64) at a respective, pre-determined elevation above surrounding ground (8). A plurality of fence posts (66) having through-holes (68) that are arranged for receipt of the respective strand(s) (64) can then be caused to slide along the strands (64) in use without contacting the surrounding ground (8), and be spaced apart along those strands (64) to form the posts of the fence.
