ANTI-BARRICADING THUMB TURN ASSEMBLY FOR A DOOR LOCKSET
An anti-barricading thumb turn assembly is configured for use with a lockset including a bolt movable to lock and unlock a door. The anti-barricading thumb turn assembly includes a spindle connected to a thumb turn with a biasing member on one side of the lockset. The lockset is also operable by a key from the other side of the door to lock and unlock the door. Under normal operation, the spindle and thumb turn rotate as the bolt is locked and unlocked. In a barricading situation in which the thumb turn is held to attempt to attempt to prevent the spindle from rotating, the biasing member allows the spindle to rotate relative to the thumb turn upon application of sufficient force through rotation of the key to overcome the biasing force and unlock the bolt even if the thumb turn is held stationary.
ANTI-BARRICADING TURN HUB ASSEMBLY FOR A DOOR LOCKSET
An anti-barricading turn hub assembly is configured for use with a lockset including a bolt movable to lock and unlock a door. The anti-barricading turn hub assembly includes a spindle connected to a thumb turn on one side of the lock. The spindle is releasably engaged to a turn hub that is operable by the key from the other side of the door. Under normal operation, the spindle and turn hub rotate together to lock and unlock the bolt. In a barricading situation in which the thumb turn is held to prevent the turn hub assembly from rotating, the turn hub disengages from the spindle upon application of sufficient force through rotation of the key, and the disengaged turn hub can be rotated to unlock the bolt even if the thumb turn is held to keep the spindle from rotating.
Push through latch
A door lock may include a latch bolt head and a blocking pin. The latch bolt head may be configured to move between an extended position and a retracted position to selectively engage a latch head pocket of a door jamb. The latch bolt head may also be configured to move between a first rotational position and a second rotational position, wherein the blocking pin is configured to prevent movement of the latch bolt head from the first rotational position to the second rotational position when the blocking pin is in an engaged position.
Anti-barricade assembly
An example lockset generally includes a housing, a bolt, a turnhub, and a spindle. The bolt is mounted in the housing for movement between an extended position and a retracted position. The turnhub is rotatably mounted in the housing and engaged with the bolt. Rotation of the turnhub in a bolt-extending direction drives the bolt toward the extended position, and rotation of the turnhub in a bolt-retracting direction opposite the bolt-extending direction drives the bolt toward the retracted position. The spindle engaged with the turnhub, is operable to exert torque on the turnhub in the bolt-retracting direction, and is selectively operable to exert torque on the turnhub in the bolt-extending direction. The housing includes a pair of stops configured to limit rotation of the spindle to a predetermined angular range.
ANTI-BARRICADE ASSEMBLY
An example lockset generally includes a housing, a bolt, a turnhub, and a spindle. The bolt is mounted in the housing for movement between an extended position and a retracted position. The turnhub is rotatably mounted in the housing and engaged with the bolt. Rotation of the turnhub in a bolt-extending direction drives the bolt toward the extended position, and rotation of the turnhub in a bolt-retracting direction opposite the bolt-extending direction drives the bolt toward the retracted position. The spindle engaged with the turnhub, is operable to exert torque on the turnhub in the bolt-retracting direction, and is selectively operable to exert torque on the turnhub in the bolt-extending direction. The housing includes a pair of stops configured to limit rotation of the spindle to a predetermined angular range.
