Electric latch mechanism

An exemplary latchbolt assembly includes a latchbolt, a locking sleeve, and a roller engaged between the latchbolt and the locking sleeve. The latchbolt is configured to drive the roller from a first position to a second position as the latchbolt moves from a projected position to a depressed position. The locking sleeve includes a blocking surface and a recessed portion. When the blocking surface is aligned with the roller, the locking sleeve retains the roller in the first position, thereby retaining the latchbolt in the projected position. When the recessed portion is aligned with the roller, the locking sleeve permits movement of the roller from the first position to the second position, thereby enabling depression of the latchbolt.

An exemplary electric strike includes a housing and a keeper pivotally mounted in the housing. The strike also includes a plunger having an extended position and a retracted position, a cage including an aperture, and a locking element movably seated in the aperture. The locking element is engaged with the plunger, and the plunger is structured to urge the locking element radially outward as the plunger moves from an extended position toward a retracted position. The strike also includes a sleeve, a transmission engaged with the sleeve, and a motor drivingly coupled to the transmission. The sleeve is structured to selectively prevent radially outward movement of the locking element and retraction of the plunger. The strike also includes at least one of a lost motion connection and an anti-tamper mechanism.

Locking device for waste container

The invention relates to locking devices, more particularly, gravity actuated locking devices, e.g., for waste containers. The locking device is designed to be fixed to a container and contains a gravity operated locking mechanism and a locking unit that couples the gravity operated locking mechanism to a locking bar. The locking bar allows the lid of the container to be blocked or opened depending upon the relative position of the locking bar to the lid. In the blocked position, the locking bar sits over the lid and does not allow it to be opened. In the opened position, the locking bar is removed from the lid and allows the lid to be opened. When in the container is in the upright position, the parts of the locking device cooperate to block the locking bar from being moved from the blocked position. However, when the container is tilted forward, e.g. for emptying the content of the container, gravity, acting on the parts of the locking device, allows the locking bar to be moved to the opened position.

Keyless Insertion Locking System and Method

The present invention, in a non-limiting example embodiment provides a locking apparatus and method for securing locking hardware without the use of a key. In an example embodiment, the apparatus comprises at least a keyless insertion rotatable disk-style, barrel locking apparatus that, in a locked state can be inserted into a securing device without first unlocking, and then, thereafter, locking after insertion. In a nonlimiting example embodiment, unlocking and re-locking requires a key. The present invention, in an example embodiment, also provides features that allow the locking apparatus to enter and exit multiple apertures without requiring a key.

LOCKING DEVICE FOR WASTE CONTAINER

The present invention generally relates to a locking device for waste containers, particularly residential or commercial waste containers. In particular, the invention provides a waste container locking device which keeps the container closed when a sudden jerk or jarring, such as by ground impact, is applied on the container, so that the container does not open when it is accidentally knocked over, but may be opened when tipped during dumping.

Latch assembly

A latch assembly disposed in an anti-fire door includes a tube, a blocking pin, an elastic member and a wedging member, wherein the tube comprises a main body and an accommodating space. The main body comprises a constraining slot communicating with the accommodating space, wherein the blocking pin, the elastic member and the wedging member are disposed in the accommodating space. The elastic member is used for pushing the blocking pin and the wedging member to move and making the blocking pin protruding to the tube and lodging in a door frame. The wedging member lodged in the constraining slot is used for blocking the blocking pin protruded to the tube therefore preventing the blocking pin from retracting back into the accommodating space.

A locking pin includes a body having a plurality of apertures defined through a sidewall. A closure is disposed at an end of the body. A plurality of latch bolts is disposed in the body and adjacent to the closure. Each latch bolt is moveable through a corresponding one of the apertures and between a locked position, disposed at least partially outside of the body, and an unlocked position, disposed at least substantially within the body. A keeper is coupled to each of the latch bolts and configured to retain the latch bolt in the latched position and to bias the latch bolt for movement from the locked position to the unlocked position. A mechanism selectably engages each latch bolt to move the latch bolt to the locked position, and selectably disengages from the latch bolt to allow the keeper to move the latch bolt to the unlocked position.
