Systems and methods for detecting vehicle door closing events
The disclosed computer-implemented method may include receiving sensor data associated with a mobile device associated with a vehicle, wherein the sensor data includes at least one of an angular velocity vector, a linear acceleration vector, and a rotational acceleration vector recorded over a period of time, determining an event signature based on the sensor data, and detecting a door closing event associated with the vehicle based at least in part on the event signature. Other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are disclosed.
Electronic Door Lock with a Monitoring Unit
An electronic door lock includes a dead bolt moved by a deadbolt transmitting assembly, a spring-loaded latch bolt moved by a latchbolt transmitting assembly, a lock core rotated by a core transmitting assembly, and a spring-loaded prying resisting member. A monitoring unit includes sensors respectively corresponsive to those assemblies and the prying resisting member, and a security controller which performs a security procedure in accordance with position of those assemblies and the prying resisting member sensed by the sensors.
System and method for simple modular and flexible “blind vault lock” design to secure shipment of high-value cargo
Cargo locks are general massive, virtually armor plate grade materials, cables, tags, etc. hung on the outside of any configuration of cargo containers, enclosed cargo trucks, vans, semi-trailers, boxcars, etc. A few internal cargo area lock systems have been offered but are cost prohibitive, massive and not practical for other than a stationary installation. This makes them impractical for cargo containers, boxcars, and most semi-trailers because they are rarely re-used by the same party who invested in an elaborate stationary lock system. In a further development of U.S. Pat. No. 9,683,394, virtually anyone can install this flexible Lock Mechanism and Electronic Control (LM&EC) and achieve a secured cargo area by making all locks inaccessible from the outside. Similarly, the LM&EC system can be readily removed for reuse elsewhere or its access and control components modified to adapt to the reuse application or improve security for the present application.
Electro-mechanical deadbolt connection to main housing
Certain aspects of the technology disclosed herein include an apparatus and method for electrically and mechanically connecting a deadbolt to a main housing of a lock. The main housing can be configured to extend a deadbolt along a path to lock and/or unlock a door while receiving electrical energy from an energy storage device disposed in the deadbolt. The energy storage device disposed in the deadbolt can be proximate to one or more electrical contacts electrically connected to one or more components in the main housing via conductive components of a bolt carriage. The bolt carriage includes a groove attachable to a male detent connector attached to the deadbolt. The groove in the bolt carriage provides a mechanical connection to the deadbolt and also aligns pogo pins with electrical components of the bolt carriage to enable electrical transmission from the deadbolt to the main housing.
Deadbolt position sensing
Determining a position of a deadbolt used to lock and unlock a door is disclosed. An electromechanical lock can include a deadbolt that can retract or extend along a linear path as the door is to be locked and unlocked. A sensor such as an accelerometer can rotate along a non-linear path as the deadbolt moves along a linear path. The accelerometer can determine a gravity vector that can be indicative of a position of the accelerometer along the non-linear path. A controller can then determine a position of the deadbolt based on the gravity vector.
Gate latch
A gate latch configured to enable opening and closing thereof with only one hand. Comprises an integrated housing with an internal slide caused to move from a first position at one end of a slide sleeve member to a second position at an opposite end thereof, functionally related to corresponding pivotable movement of a fork member. When the fork member is disposed in a first, orthogonal position the gate latch is closed wherein a lip member is interlocked with a mated tongue member. When the fork member is disposed in a second, linear position the latch is open wherein the lip member is disengaged from the mated tongue member.
Panel lock assembly
An apparatus for locking a panel to a strike jamb includes a synchronous displacement mechanism associated with a locking element (108) which is responsive to part of a closing motion of a panel (104) from an open position towards a closed position to initiate a motion of locking element (108) towards the locked position during the closing motion of the panel prior to the panel reaching its closed position. The synchronous displacement mechanism preferably has a deadlock state when the locking element is in the locked position which prevents displacement of the locking element towards the unlocked position.
LOCKING MECHANISM INCLUDING ENERGY STORAGE
Certain aspects of the technology disclosed herein include an apparatus and method for storing energy in a electromechanical lock. The electromechanical lock can include a main housing and a deadbolt. The main housing can be configured to extend a deadbolt along a path to lock and/or unlock a door. The deadbolt can have a hollow inner region configured to receive an energy storage device. The energy storage device within the deadbolt can be electrically connected to the main housing. The energy storage device can be used to power an actuator and/or accelerometer in the main housing.
DEADBOLT EXTENSION DEVICE FOR AN ELECTROMECHANICAL LOCK
Certain aspects of the technology disclosed herein include an apparatus and method for a extending a deadbolt. The electromechanical lock can include a deadbolt extending device disposed between a main housing and a deadbolt. The deadbolt extension device can be used to adapt the electromechanical lock to doors of various sizes. The deadbolt extension device can include another electrical connection and another attachment mechanism for the deadbolt. The another electrical connection can be configured to electrically connect the deadbolt with the main housing. The another attachment mechanism can be configured to attach the deadbolt a pre-defined distance apart from the main housing.
