Systems, devices, and methods for organ retroperfusion along with regional mild hypothermia

Systems, devices, and methods for organ Retroperfusion along with regional mild hypothermia. One such system includes a hypothermia system including a hypothermia system outlet and a hypothermia system inlet; and a connector comprising a coolant inlet, a coolant outlet, a coolant reservoir, and a blood lumen, whereby the coolant inlet is configured to couple to the hypothermia system outlet and whereby the coolant outlet is configured to couple to the hypothermia system inlet; whereby a cooling product, when the hypothermia system is connected to the connector, can flow from the hypothermia system, through the hypothermia system outlet, into the coolant inlet, through the coolant reservoir, into the coolant outlet, and into the hypothermia system inlet, so that the cooling product can cool blood flowing through the blood lumen.

Method and Apparatus for Mitigating Acute Reoxygenation Injury During Percutaneious Coronary Intervention
20210113757 · 2021-04-22 · ·

A system and methods are described for improving the management of ischemic cardiac tissue during acute coronary syndromes. The system combines a catheter-based sub-system which allows for simultaneous balloon dilation of a coronary artery and infusion of a carefully controlled perfusate during percutaneous coronary intervention. The system allows for modulation of levels of oxygen at the time of percutaneous intervention. In addition, catheters and systems are provided for administration of fluids with modified oxygen content during an intervention that incorporate upstream flow control members to compartmentalize the perfusion of the target coronary artery and the remainder of the heart.

BI-DIRECTIONAL PERFUSION CANNULA

A bi-directional perfusion cannula comprising a flexible elongated tube 1 for insertion into an artery having a first aperture 3 at a distal end and a second aperture 4 formed rearward of the first aperture, the elongated tube can be bent in correspondence of the second aperture to orient it in a direction opposite to the insertion direction. The cannula is provided with a tape 5 having a first end portion shaped as a ring, fixed on an outer surface of the elongated tube, and a second end portion opposite to the first end portion either coupled to or being integral with a belt 7 defining a strap 11 with holes 12 and at least a prong 13 integral with the strap and configured to engage a respective hole, wherein the belt is configured to be tightened around an outer surface of the artery.

A method of providing retrograde perfusion of a patient's brain includes occluding a jugular vein of a subject at a jugular occlusion location, and passively shunting arterial blood from an artery of the subject to a location in the jugular vein distal to the jugular occlusion location.

Systems and methods for treating a carotid artery

Systems and methods are adapted for treating the carotid artery. The systems include interventional catheters and blood vessel access devices that are adapted for transcervical insertion into the carotid artery. Embodiments of the systems and methods can be used in combination with embolic protection systems including blood flow reversal mechanisms, arterial filters, and arterial occlusion devices.

Methods, devices, and systems establish and facilitate retrograde or reverse flow blood circulation in the region of the carotid artery bifurcation in order to limit or prevent the release of emboli into the cerebral vasculature such as into the internal carotid artery. The methods are particularly useful for interventional procedures, such as stenting and angioplasty, atherectomy performed through a transcarotid approach or transfemoral into the common carotid artery, either using an open surgical technique or using a percutaneous technique, such as a modified Seldinger technique or a micropuncture technique.
