A closure latch assembly and method for cinching a closure panel from a partially closed position to a fully closed position without pinching an object between the closure panel and a structural portion of a motor vehicle are provided. The latch assembly has a latch cinch mechanism including a cinch lever operably moveable from a cinch start position to a cinch stop position to cause a cinch link to move a ratchet from a secondary striker capture position to a primary striker capture position. A power-operated cinch actuator receives a first signal to move the cinch lever from the cinch start position to the cinch stop position and receives a second signal, in response to an object detected between the closure panel and the structural portion, to stop moving the cinch lever from the cinch start position toward the cinch stop position.

TOUCH SENSOR UNIT

The disclosure provides a touch sensor unit. A conductive component is arranged between a pair of electrodes which are arranged inside an insulating tube, and the conductive component includes: a body section, which extends in a longitudinal direction of the insulating tube; and a convex section, which is arranged on an outer circumference of the body section, extends along the longitudinal direction of the body section, and sinks into the pair of electrodes. Short circuit or non-short circuit and so on of the electrodes can be detected by detecting the resistance value of the conductive component. Merely by inserting the conductive component into one end in the longitudinal direction of the electrodes, the pair of electrodes are electrically connected, and only the convex section sinks into the pair of electrodes, therefore the insertion load of the conductive component can be reduced, and the terminal treatment can be simplified.

A control unit of the door latch device controls an electric motor for driving a sector gear in a release direction based on a door operation of an operation switch, and controls to stop a power supply to the electric motor when the latch is rotated from the full-latch position to the open position and a full-latch detecting switch is activated while the moving member is brought into abutment with the stopper portion and is stopped.

The problem addressed by the invention is to devise a method for closing a motor vehicle hood which makes it possible to minimize a gap between the hood and the vehicle body. This should in particular make it possible to keep the risk of injuries low. In order to solve said problem, the hood is closed as follows by means of a hood closing device comprising a locking bolt (35) and a locking mechanism consisting of a rotary latch (1) and a pawl (7): the open hood is moved in the direction of the closed position; this movement of the hood causes the locking bolt (35) to pivot the rotary latch (1) about its pin (4) in the direction of the latched position until the rotary latch (1) hits a breakthrough preventing contraption, in particular a catching lever (11), whereupon the hood or the rotary latch along with the hood is moved using a drive unit (19), in particular an electric drive unit, in such a way that the gap between the hood and the motor vehicle body is reduced; following this movement caused by the drive unit, the rotary latch (1) is locked by the pawl 7).

A controller system is provided for a motorized moveable striker assembly on a vehicle door or window. The assembly includes a striker on the door post which is moveable by an electric motor between extended and retracted positions. A latch on the door releasably engages the striker. Switches in the latch sends signals to the controller to actuate the motor. After the latch is engaged, the controller retracts the striker from the extended position to fully close the door. When the latch is disengaged from the striker, the latch switch sends a signal to controller to actuate the motor so as to extend the striker from the retracted position to the extended position as to prepare for the next door closing. Anti-pinching control and temperature compensation is also provided.

The control assembly actuates the closing drive in the closing routine so as to move the lock catch from the starting position into a delay position in order to carry out a delay action and then move the lock catch into the main closing position.

A system for calibrating a cinch operation of a latch system coupled to a closure panel of a vehicle, the system comprising: an actuator for moving the closure panel from a partially closed position to a closed position using a series of applied forces; one or more sensors for sensing positions of a ratchet of the latch system in response to each of the series of applied forces, said each of the series of applied forces provided in a respective zone of a series of zones; and a controller for determining a respective speed of the ratchet in each of the respective zones based on the sensed positions and for comparing each of the respective speeds to a set of calibration data containing one or more predetermined speeds of the ratchet for each of the respective zones of the series of zones; wherein based on said comparing, the controller adjusts one or more of the series of applied forces in order to adjust one or more of the respective speeds of the ratchet.
