Exit device for high wind environments
A door latch system includes an exit device having a housing mounted to an unsecured side of a door. A latch assembly is mounted in the housing and includes a latch for releasably securing the door in a door frame. An actuating assembly includes a driving member. A push bar is configured to be received within the housing. Relative movement between the push bar and base plate so as to reduce the distance between the push bar and base plate moves the driving member and latch to release the door from the door frame. A dashpot is connected to the driving member and configured to allow movement of the driving member when the push bar is manually depressed but to resist movement of the driving member when a secure side of the door experiences a high velocity impact. A method of resisting unwanted unlatching of the latch is also disclosed.
HANDLE ARRANGEMENT WITH AN INTERNAL LOCK
The present invention relates to a handle arrangement (100) for arrangement to a door comprising a body (1), a handle (2) rotatably arranged to the body (1) and movable between closed and an open position, and a latch mechanism (6) for latching a door to a door frame. The latch mechanism (6) being maneuverable between a latching position and an unlatching position by rotating the handle (2) round a first rotational axis (A), The latch mechanism further comprises a lock arrangement (4) rotationally movable around its central axis (C) and comprises a moveable locking element (7) configured to be moved between an unlocked position and a locked position upon rotation of the lock arrangement (4), wherein the locking element (7) comprises a flange (8) and the handle (2) comprises a stopping surface (9), wherein said flange (8) in the locked position is configured to abut the stopping surface (9) to prevent rotation of the gripping portion (3) around said first rotational axis (A).
UNIVERSAL LATCH ASSEMBLY TO ALLOW SELECTIVE LATCH HANDLE ORIENTATIONS
Latch assemblies are provided with a paddle lever having an outwardly extending actuator flange and a rotary actuator plate which includes a fixed actuator pin extending outwardly from the actuator plate and adapted to being operatively engaged with the actuator flange of the paddle lever when manually moved into the unlatched condition thereof. At least one pair of arcuate spirally patterned and circumferentially separated cam slots are defined in the rotary actuator plate such that a latch pin associated with a latch bolt is operatively received within a selected one of the cam slots. Movement of the paddle lever from the latched condition into the unlatched condition thereof responsively engages the actuator flange with the actuator pin thereby causing rotation of the actuator plate about a rotary axis thereof and movement of the latch pin within the selected one of the cam slots whereby the latch pin is retracted to unlatch a moveable component from a fixed component.
COMPRESSION LATCH
A compression latch assembly for latching a panel to a frame includes a housing assembly, a lockplug assembly, a handle actuator assembly, and a rotating pawl assembly. The housing assembly defines an exterior well and a first and second compartment. The lockplug assembly resides within the first compartment and includes a lockplug having a circumferential guide surface. The handle actuator assembly has a handle within the exterior well, a crank coupled to the handle, and a drive shaft coupled to the crank. The handle and the crank rotate about common pivot point within the second compartment. The handle is selectively captured and ejected by interaction between the circumferential guide surface and a locking pin on the handle. The rotating pawl assembly has a hook defining a slot that receives the drive shaft. Pivotal movement of the handle actuates the hook by movement of the drive shaft within the slot.
SWING HANDLE ARRANGEMENT WITH FIRST AND SECOND LOCKING MECHANISMS
Handle arrangement (100) for arrangement to a door (200) provided with a door latch (240), the handle arrangement comprising a housing (10) having a hollow interior, and handle (20) moveable relative to the housing (10) along a first direction, the handle configured to couple to the door latch (240), wherein a movement of the handle along said first direction moves the door latch to or from the latching position; wherein the handle (20) is moveable relative the housing (10) along a second direction, between a secured position, in which position the handle is locked to the housing, and a released position, in which position the handle is moveable relative the housing about the first direction; a first locking mechanism (60) configured to, in a locking state, lock the handle (20) in the secured position, and in a releasing state, allow the handle to be moved to the released position, a second locking mechanism (80) configured to, in a locking state, prevent movement of the handle along the first direction, and in a releasing state allow movement of the handle along the first direction; and an actuating device (70) configured to actuate the first locking mechanism (60) into a locking state or a releasing state, and to actuate the second locking mechanism (80) into a locking state or a releasing state.
Push Pad Exit Device for Emergency Door Egress
A push pad exit device comprising a horizontal push bar actuator mechanically linked to a vertical door handle assembly, for use on the interior side of entrance doors where a means of emergency egress is desired is presented. The operating mechanisms of the push bar actuator and vertical door handle assembly are concealed presenting a smooth uncluttered appearance. In one mode of operation, the push pad actuator may be moved inwards towards the door face causing the door to unlatch. The push pad exit device may also be equipped with a “dogging feature” which locks the push bar actuator in the unlatched position. In this mode of operation the door is unlatched and the push pad actuator may be used as a fixed door handle. The push pad exit device may also be equipped with a keyed lock on an external face of the door.
UNLOCKING AND LOCKING METHOD OF CABINET LOCK AND CABINET SAFETY LOCK
The invention belongs to the technical field of daily necessities, and particularly relates to an unlocking and locking method of a cabinet lock and a cabinet safety lock. During unlocking, a lock rod is displaced relative to a locking assembly to release the locking of the lock rod, and a first lock rod is rotated to an unlocked position. During locking, the first lock rod is rotated to a locked position and the locking assembly is engaged with the lock rod to lock the second lock rod. The method and the cabinet safety lock have a novel operating mode, have a firm structure, are convenient to use, and can effectively avoid unauthorized operation by children.
