SURGICAL DRAIN SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE
20210393867 · 2021-12-23 ·

A surgical drain system for use during and following surgery is provided. A collection reservoir is placed in fluid communication with the body of a user through a collection port. A pump creates a vacuum pressure to urge fluid into the collection reservoir. Fluid exits the collection reservoir through a drain port. A drain mechanism allows air to come into the collection reservoir through an air intake aperture and collected fluid to leave the reservoir simultaneously. The drain system can be worn beneath clothes.

Waste Collection Unit Including A Reservoir Supported On A Portable Cart For Storing Liquid When Positioned Away From A Docking Station

A waste collection unit for collecting waste material. A reservoir is supported on a portable cart for storing a liquid on the portable cart when positioned away from a docking station. A sprinkler may be coupled to the waste container and in fluid communication with the reservoir. The sprinkler is configured to direct the liquid from the reservoir towards the waste container. The reservoir is configured to receive additional liquid from the docking station to urge the liquid from the reservoir towards the sprinkler. A prefill pump may be supported on the portable cart and in fluid communication with the waste container and operable to convey the liquid from the reservoir to the waste container. A controller may be in electronic communication with a valve assembly to control flow of the liquid from the docking station into at least one of the reservoir and a second waste container.

METHODS AND DEVICES FOR HARVESTING AND PROCESSING CONNECTIVE TISSUE PRECURSOR CELLS FROM AUTOLOGOUS FAT
20210380927 · 2021-12-09 ·

Methods and devices are disclosed for processing stromal precursor cells (i.e., cells which can differentiate into connective tissue cells, such as in muscles, ligaments, or tendons) which can be obtained from fatty tissue extracts obtained via liposuction. Normal processing of a liposuction extract involves centrifugation, to concentrate the stromal cells into a semi-concentrated form called “spun fat”. That “spun fat” can then be treated by mechanical processing (such as pressure-driven extrusion through 0.5 mm holes) under conditions which can gently pry the stromal cells away from extra-cellular collagen fibers and other debris in the “spun fat”. The extruded mixture is then centrifuged again, to separate a highly-enriched population of stromal cells which is suited for injection back into the patient (along with platelet cells, if desired, to further promote tissue repair or regeneration).

Automated Fluid Output Monitoring

Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to apparatus and methods for a fluid collection system and automated fluid flow monitoring. The system can include a collection container, and a detection device coupled to an outside surface thereof and configured to detect a volume of fluid disposed therein. The detection device can be coupled to the collection container without having to compromise the integrity of the closed fluid collection system or re-catheterizing the patient. The detection device can be configured to detect an inversion event, tilt event, and the like to determine a flow rate of fluid into the container. The detection device can be communicatively coupled with external computing devices to alert a clinician when the container is nearing capacity and when it has been emptied.

VESSEL AND DEVICE FOR RECOVERING AND PREPARING ADIPOSE TISSUES
20210369943 · 2021-12-02 ·

Disclosed is a vessel for recovering adipose tissues including a body sealed by a lid connectable to a first pipe with a suction cannula, and a second pipe with a suction pump. A removable adapter connects a lid including two orifices, each closed by a stopper that can be pierced or is pre-pierced and self-sealing, and a vent opening with a filter and removable plug. The connection adapter includes two rigid piercing tubes projecting from under the adapter, each piercing tube in continuous fluid relationship with a corresponding nipple projecting from the adapter, each nipple connectable to a corresponding pipe. The two sealed orifices of the lid and the adapter and piercing tubes are arranged so, when the connection adapter is applied to the lid, each piercing tube pierces a corresponding stopper and brings each nipple into correspondence, in a sealed manner, with the internal volume of the vessel.

20220184282 · 2022-06-16 ·

An aspiration and irrigation ultraportable device is disclosed. The device is configured to aspirate and irrigate alone or sequentially. The device comprises a digitally adjustable dry/wet vacuum and a spray/irrigator assembly that is powered by rechargeable batteries. The device has at least one easily disposable and cleanable aspirant/irrigant reservoir. The present invention relates to the field of medicine specially related to outpatient and in-home settings of aspiration and irrigation of nose, ear, open wounds, and other body fluids.

DEVICE FOR PROCESSING TISSUE

Preparation of a product comprising stromal vascular traction cells includes washing human biological material comprising adipose in a container apparatus having an internal filter, which divides an internal containment volume of the container apparatus into a tissue retention volume on one side of the filter and a filtrate volume on an opposite side of the filter, and a mixing device with at least one rotatable mixing member disposed in the tissue retention volume. The washing includes operation of the mixing device to rotate the mixing member through the human biological material within the tissue retention volume, and the washing is followed by digesting washed material within the internal containment volume with added enzyme, centrifuging of the container apparatus to prepare a centrifuged pellet in the filtrate volume, selectively removing material of the pellet and preparing a product with a mixture of stromal vascular fraction cells of removed pellet material and an aqueous suspension liquid.

FLUID DRAINAGE DEVICE
20220143298 · 2022-05-12 ·

A fluid drainage device which includes a fluid-receiving volume, a cover which is movable between a first limiting position at which an inlet port is in fluid communication with the volume and a second limiting position at which an outlet port is in fluid communication with the volume, a piston which is movable inside the volume between a first position and a second position, a handle which is moveable in a first direction to cause the piston to move to the first position and to store energy in a spring so that, when the cover is in the first limiting position the piston is moveable by energy released from the spring to reduce pressure in the volume, allowing fluid flow through the inlet port, and wherein movement of the handle in a second direction causes the piston to move to the second position thereby expelling fluid from the volume.
