Window balance assembly
A window balance assembly may include a carrier, a spring element, and a mounting bracket. The spring element may include first and second portions. The first portion may be coupled to the carrier. The mounting bracket may engage the second portion of the spring element and may selectively engage the carrier. The mounting bracket may include a first mounting surface disposed at a non-perpendicular angle relative to an exterior surface of carrier when the window balance assembly is in an uninstalled configuration. The first mounting surface may be substantially parallel to the exterior surface of the carrier when the window balance assembly is in an installed configuration and the mounting bracket is disengaged from the carrier.
System and method for inhibiting window sash drift
A system and method for inhibiting inadvertent movement of a window sash out of a fully open position. Brake shoes travel in the guide tracks as the window sash is moved between a fully open position and a fully closed position. A stop is mounted within the guide tracks. The brake shoe and the stop contact and interconnect when the window sash is moved to its fully open position. The brake shoe is separable from the stop when a closing force is manually applied to the window sash that acts to move the window sash away from its fully open position. The force applied must exceed a threshold level. In this manner, the window sash will remain in its fully open position and will not inadvertently drift closed due to gravity, vibrations or contact with another window sash.
Carrier device for window balance assembly
A window balance assembly may include a spring member, a mounting bracket, and a carrier. The spring member may include a first portion and a second portion. The mounting bracket may engage the first portion of the spring member. The carrier may include an upper body portion supporting the second portion of the spring member and removably engaging the mounting bracket, a lower body portion rotatably supporting a cam, and an elongated central portion extending between the upper body portion and the lower body portion. The elongated central portion may be resiliently flexible to allow movement of the lower body portion relative to the upper body portion.
Window Systems and Components
A window system includes a window frame; a transparent window pane; an energy harvesting device coupled to the window frame or the transparent window frame; an output device that uses or transmits electricity; and a battery housed in the window frame, the battery being in electrical communication with the energy harvesting device and the output device.
Window balance assembly
A window balance assembly may include a carrier, a spring element, and a mounting bracket. The spring element may include first and second portions. The first portion may be coupled to the carrier. The mounting bracket may engage the second portion of the spring element and may selectively engage the carrier.
Window balance assembly and mounting bracket therefor
A window balance assembly and a mounting bracket for a window balance assembly are provided. The mounting bracket includes a planar-shaped body having opposed planar surface with an opening extending through the body from one surface to the other. The mounting bracket further includes first and second hooks extending from the same edge of the body that selectively engage a curl spring and a carrier of a window balance assembly. The first hook is oriented in a different direction than the second hook such that the first hook has an upward bend and the second hook has a downward bend.
Track cover for moving axis compartment door
An assembly for mounting a door with a vehicle compartment includes an arm coupled with the compartment and with the door, a track fixed with the compartment, and a carrier pivotably coupled with the door and slidable along the track. The assembly further includes a spring coupled between the door and the compartment such that a contraction of the spring alone causes the door to move with rotation of the arm and movement of the carrier along the track. A track cover engages the carrier to prevent disengagement of the carrier from the track.
Window Balance Assembly And Mounting Bracket Therefor
A window balance assembly and a mounting bracket for a window balance assembly are provided. The mounting bracket includes a planar-shaped body having opposed planar surface with an opening extending through the body from one surface to the other. The mounting bracket further includes first and second coupling members extending from the same side of the body that selectively engage a curl spring and a carrier of a window balance assembly. The first coupling member is oriented in a different direction than the second coupling member such that the first coupling member has an upward orientation and the second coupling member has a downward orientation.
CONSTANT FORCE WINDOW BALANCE ENGAGEMENT SYSTEM
A window balance system includes a mounting bracket configured to be secured to a window jamb, a shoe body and a coil spring movably coupling the mounting bracket to the shoe body. The window balance system also includes an engagement member extending from at least one of the mounting bracket and the shoe body, wherein the engagement member includes at least one resilient arm having a pawl extending therefrom. The window balance system further includes a receiving member defined in at least the other one of the mounting bracket and the shoe body, wherein the receiving member includes at least one rack having at least one tooth extending therefrom such that the pawl is engageable with the rack.
SIDE-LOAD HUNG WINDOW ASSEMBLY WITH SASH GUIDES
A side-load, hung window assembly can include a sash guide attached to the window sash and extending into a space between the window sash and the jamb channel. The sash guide can include a recess at an outer end to provide clearance for the sash guide to pass over the uncurled end portion of the curl spring and the mounting device. In addition, an aesthetic cover can be disposed over the mounting device. Alternatively or in addition, a spring cover can be disposed over the uncurled end portion of the curl spring and the mounting device.
