Garage door noise reduction roller assembly
A roller with a Delrin plastic injection to coat the steel shaft wherein the plastic coated shaft eliminates the metal-to-metal contact that creates the noise. The new and improved Delrin plastic coated shaft will be 1 mm larger than industry standard shafts because 10-11 mm industry standard shafts are too loose in the hinge barrels which allows the rattling. This improved roller shaft is 12 mm at finished thickness to reduce the extra space. A roller wheel connected to a roller shaft being a portion of a hinge affixed to a garage door, the roller wheel adapted to roll within a track of a garage door, the roller wheel including at least one ball bearing and a collar retained in a circumferential cylindrical middle cover seal and the circumferential cylindrical middle cover seal covered with a steel cover, the steel cover covered with 50-90 durometer soft urethane plastic.
Closing the gap between the roller shaft and hinge barrel will eliminate the metal-to-metal contact resulting in a very quiet, rolling garage door. By keeping the finished thickness at 12 mm on the new shaft, the roller will still work on new and old garage door hinges and fixtures. This makes the new and improved roller shaft a truly universal product that will work on 90% of garage doors in service and almost all new models. This is a long over-due improvement to garage door rollers.
Improved Sectional Door
A panel for a sectional door, the panel comprising: (a) a front wall; (b) a rear wall; (c) a top edge; (d) a bottom edge; (e) two side edges; (f) a first mounting means for mounting the panel in a pair of first guide tracks, one of each said pair of first guide tracks located adjacent each of said side edges; (g) a first rigid reinforcement member extending between said top and bottom edges to reinforce said panel against deflection; and (h) a first non-rigid restraining member located between said side edges to restrict the deflection of the panel, wherein said first non-rigid restraining member defines a path that runs adjacent to or through said first rigid reinforcement member and comprises a second mounting means for anchoring said first non-rigid reinforcement member to an anchor point.
GARAGE DOOR NOISE REDUCTION ROLLER ASSEMBLY WITH NOISE REDUCTION ROLLER WHEEL
A roller with a plastic injection tube to coat the steel shaft wherein the plastic coated shaft eliminates the metal-to-metal contact that creates the noise. Closing the gap between the metal roller shaft and hinge barrel will eliminate the metal-to-metal contact resulting in a very quiet, rolling garage door. Further disclosed is an improved roller wheel having a tire made of material selected from the group consisting of urethane and urethane (PER) on which the roller will roll within a garage door track to significantly reduce the noise of the roller as it rolls inside the garage door tracks as the garage door is raised and lowered. The improved wheel include two plastic wheel sections with a gap therebetween with the tire made of urethane (PER) molded between the two sections and also extending through openings within the two wheel sections to retain the two wheel sections together.
Hinge system and method for a segmented door
A hinge includes: a first and second gear; a cover configured to attach the gears; a first outside surface associated with the first panel; a second outside surface associated with the second panel; wherein when the first and second outside surfaces are in a generally co-planer orientation, a tooth from one of the first and second gears fits next to a tooth from the other of the first and second gears to form a water shedding joint. A method of forming a hinge includes: extruding a gear together with a panel having a first outside surface; a second panel a second outside surface; wherein when the first and second outside surfaces are in a generally co-planer orientation, a tooth from one of the first and second gears fits next to a tooth from the other of the first and second gears to form a water shedding joint.
MOTOR-OPERABLE AND VERTICALLY MOVABLE GATE
The present invention relates to a gate with a gate panel, comprising several gate panel sections which are hingedly coupled to each other by way of hinges, where a hinge comprises two hinge panels of adjacent gate panel sections, at least one elongate drive means which is connected to at least one gate panel section, and at least one guide means which is suitable to guide the gate panel during its motion. In order to optimize the gate with regard to its installation space, in particular in the width and depth direction, and to ensure simple and inexpensive yet at the same time still reliable operation of the gate, it is proposed to arrange the elongated drive means at least in sections received in the gate panel section.
Hinge Cover
A hinge cover for preventing damage to a vehicle or other object caused by contact with one or more hinge of a vertically opening door. Hinges which may be covered with a hinge cover may include leaves connected together by an axial barrel with opposite ends defining openings. A hinge cover may comprise a generally wedge-shaped body and an axial connector removably insertable in a respective barrel end opening to removably attach the hinge cover to the hinge. The body may include a downwardly-sloping ramp and a pair of opposed sidewalls which receive the barrel therebetween. In embodiments, an axial connector comprises a pair of opposed coaxial tabs extending from a respective sidewall which can each be inserted into a respective end opening of the barrel to removably attach the hinge cover to the hinge. The hinge cover shields a vehicle or other object in the path of the hinge from direct or glancing damaging contact by the hinge.
Gate having an insulating curtain
A door, in particular a roll-up door, having a curtain that can be moved between a closed position in which it is arranged, at least in sections, approximately in a plane and an open position in which it is wound, preferably at least in sections, on a winding shaft, said curtain having at least one thermally insulating region such as an insulating body, preferably made of PE form. The insulating region is formed by a pocket bordered at least partially by strip-shaped, deformable reinforcing layers, in particular made of plastics, particularly preferably made of PVC.
HINGE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A SEGMENTED DOOR
A method of assembling a hinge comprising a first gear having one or more first teeth, a second gear having one or more second teeth and an area with no teeth, and a cover configured to attach the first gear to the second gear comprises moving the first gear into the cover and moving the second gear having the area with no teeth at least partially into the cover without engagement of the one or more first teeth and the one or more second teeth.
Quick release door roller assembly
An improved vertical lift door roller assembly has a wheel pivotally mounted to a shaft. The shaft is placed within a spring loaded locking cylinder. The locking cylinder is movable between a first position where it restricts pivoting of the wheel and a second position where the wheel is able to pivot. The door roller assembly is mountable to a support a vertical lift door, such as a bracket or a hinge. The roller wheel can be pivoted to decouple the roller from a vertical lift door wheel track and to reseat the wheel in the track.
