DOOR CLOSER POWER ADJUSTMENT
An exemplary door closer has an adjustable size and includes a rotatable member operable to adjust the size and an indicator mechanism configured to indicate the current size. The indicator mechanism includes a cover mounted to a housing of the door closer and a dial rotatably mounted to the cover. The dial is engaged with the rotatable member such that the dial rotates in response to rotation of the rotatable member. The cover includes an indicating region, and the dial includes a display surface including indicia relating to the sizes of the door closer. The display surface is non-perpendicular to the rotational axis of the rotatable member. When the door closer has been adjusted to a particular size, indicia relating to the particular size are indicated by the indicating region.
Hydraulic drive for a door sash or window sash
A hydraulic drive for a sash of a door, a gate, a window or the like comprises a housing and a piston which is displaceably guided in the housing and which divides the interior of the housing into a pressure chamber and a non-pressurized chamber. In this case, the drive, which can in particular be a hydraulic door closer, comprises a regulating valve which is arranged on the end face of the housing delimiting the pressure chamber on the side facing away from the piston and which is integrated in particular in a housing cover for activating an impact function. The regulating valve has a valve member which is displaceable between a closed position and an open position in a valve bore of a valve housing formed in particular by the housing cover, is impinged on in the closing direction by the pressure in the pressure chamber and can be transferred into the open position thereof by the spring force of a spring unit when the pressure in the pressure chamber falls below a predeterminable limit pressure.
Door with hidden door closer
The present disclosure describes various embodiments of a concealed or hidden door closer that is installed in a rail of a door assembly. In some embodiments, the door frame and door closer components are configured to allow the door assembly to be readily installed as either a left or a right hand hinged door.
Door closer adjustment mechanism
Certain embodiments relate to an adjustment indicator mechanism for a door closer including a tubular portion and an adjustment screw mounted to the tubular portion. A housing is configured for mounting to the door closer, and includes a channel and indicia adjacent the channel, each of the indicia corresponding to a respective size of the door closer. An adjustment transmission includes a first component configured for coupling with the adjustment screw. An indicator transmission is engaged with the adjustment transmission and mounted in the housing. An indicator is movably mounted to the housing such that a portion of the indicator is visible via the channel. The indicator is engaged with the indicator transmission such that movement of the indicator transmission causes the indicator to selectively align with the indicia to thereby indicate the current size of the door closer.
DOOR CLOSER WITH POWER CLOSE
A door closer may utilize a door closing device (e.g., spring) and a force adjustment device (e.g., a motor) in order to allow for manual door opening and assisted door closing. During operation, as a door is manually opened, the spring is loaded (e.g., compressed or tensioned) above its pre-loaded closed position state. Once manual opening is completed, the spring that is loaded during opening begins returning to the pre-loaded closed position state, and thus, moves the door automatically towards the closed position. Depending on the pre-loaded spring setting, the closing force of the door may not be enough to close the door, or to close the door with the preferred force. As such, during closing a controller may engage a motor not to drive the door directly, but to increase the pre-load of spring to increase the closing force in order to allow the door to close as preferred.
Door closer with backout prevention
An exemplary door closer includes a housing defining a hydraulic chamber having a hydraulic fluid disposed therein. A pinion is rotatably mounted to the housing and extends into the hydraulic chamber. A piston is mounted for reciprocal movement within the housing, and defines a rack engaged with the pinion. The housing further defines an aperture in fluid communication with the hydraulic chamber. A regulating screw is rotatably mounted within the aperture such that rotation of the regulating screw in a first direction advances the regulating screw into the hydraulic chamber and such that rotation of the regulating screw in an opposite second direction withdraws the regulating screw away from the hydraulic chamber. A stop member is mounted in the aperture such that the stop member limits withdrawing movement of the regulating screw to thereby prevent leaking of the hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic chamber via the aperture.
Door closer casings
An example door closer includes a casing and a pinion rotatably mounted to the casing. The pinion is operable to rotate through a plurality of movement zones, and the door closer is configured to exert forces on the pinion as the pinion moves through the plurality of movement zones. The door closer further includes a plurality of adjustment mechanisms, each operable to adjust the force exerted on the pinion as the pinion travels through a corresponding movement zone. The casing is provided with indicia that correlate each of the adjustment mechanisms to the corresponding movement zone.
LIGATURE RESISTANT DOOR AND DOOR FRAME ASSEMBLY
Provided is a ligature resistant door and door frame assembly. Such assembly enables movement of the door relative to the frame via an actuator concealed and supported by the door frame so as to eliminate conventional hinge and closer arm constructions. In doing so, the assembly eliminates such conventional structure providing potential structure capable of supporting suspension of ligature, and reduces costs associated with purchase and installation.
AUTOMATIC OPENING MECHANISM FOR FLAP DOORS
Mechanism for opening of a flap door of an item of furniture, including a part extensible telescopically under the action of a spring, hinged to a lateral side of an item of furniture and acting on a door by way of a thrust fulcrum, wherein a unit is provided, apt to move continuously the thrust fulcrum during the phases of opening and closure of the door
