Negative pressure wound therapy device
A housing of a pump unit is fixed to a drape of a wound dressing by a joint portion. A suction chamber that is brought into a negative pressure by driving of a piezoelectric pump directly communicates with a closed space through an opening and an inlet. Hence, a therapy device does not need to include a pipe that allows the closed space and the pump unit to communicate with each other. Therefore, since the therapy device does not need to include the pipe that allows the pump unit to communicate with the closed space, detachment of the pump unit from the wound dressing owing to coming-off of the pipe is avoided. Since the housing is fixed to the drape by the joint portion, the pump unit can be prevented from detaching from the wound dressing.
VACUUM ASSISTED WOUND DRESSING
Apparatus for the application of topical negative pressure therapy to a wound site is described, the apparatus comprising: a wound contacting element for retaining wound exudate fluid therein; a wound covering element that provides a substantially airtight seal over the wound contacting element and wound site; a vacuum connection tube connecting a wound cavity to a vacuum source; and a vacuum source connected to a distal end of the vacuum connection tube.
TISSUE RESECTION SYSTEMS INCLUDING FLUID OUTFLOW MANAGEMENT
A surgical system includes a surgical instrument, a collection canister, outflow tubing coupled between the surgical instrument and the collection canister to define an outflow path from the surgical instrument to the collection canister, and a control console. The outflow tubing includes a valve module including a controllable valve disposed within the outflow path to selectively control flow therealong. The control console is configured to control operation of the surgical instrument and to control the controllable valve.
Methods of assembling a manifold for a medical waste collection system
Methods of assembling a manifold for a medical waste collection system. A flapper valve unit is secured to a head of a cap. A filter element is positioned within a shell. Basket hands of the filter element are fitted between first pairs of ribs of the cap skirt. Fingers of the shell are fitted between second pairs of ribs of the cap skirt. The cap is secured to the shell to cover an open distal end of the shell. A drip stop is secured to the proximal end base of the shell to seat within the outlet opening. Ears may be fitted through holes defined by the flapper valve unit and cap holes defined by the cap so as to snap lock to the head of the cap. The hub of the flapper valve unit may be compressed with the ears snap locked to the head of the cap.

The control console is configured to control operation of the surgical instrument and to control the controllable valve.
VACUUM CLOSURE DEVICE
This invention relates to the design of tissue covering elements for use in vacuum assisted tissue apposition systems, wherein the geometry of the covering elements favours the application of contractile forces over compressive or extensive forces at the tissue interface.
REDUCED PRESSURE THERAPY APPARATUSES AND METHODS OF USING SAME
Some embodiments comprise a pump assembly for reduced pressure wound therapy, comprising a housing, a flow pathway through the pump, one or more valves in communication with the flow pathway, a pump supported within or by the housing, and a one-way flow valve in fluid communication with the pump. The pump assembly can have a pressure sensor in communication with the flow pathway through the pump, and at least one switch or button supported by the housing, the at least one switch or button being accessible to a user and being in communication with the controller. The one-way flow valve can be configured to substantially prevent a flow of gas through the one-way flow valve in a direction of flow away from the pump. The pump assembly can have a controller supported within or by the housing, the controller being configured to control an operation of the pump. The pump has been sterilized following the assembly of the pump such that an inside and an outside of the housing, the flow pathway, the one or more valves, the pump, the controller, the battery compartment, and the at least one switch or button have been sterilized.
Breast pump and expression kit for a breast pump
The present invention relates to an expression kit (2) for a breast pump (1) for extracting breast milk (101) from a human teat (102). The expression kit (2) comprises: a breast pump body (10) comprising a first pressure chamber (11) and a second pressure chamber (21); wherein the first pressure chamber (11) is configured for connection to a pressure unit (30) for generating a in the pressure chamber (11); wherein the second pressure chamber (21) comprises a breast-receiving funnel (22), a milk outlet (23) and a milk path (24) from the breast-receiving funnel (22) to the milk outlet (23); and wherein the first and the second pressure (11, 21) chamber are separated by a breathable membrane (50), which is gas-permeable and liquid-impermeable, for separating the first pressure chamber (11) from liquid in the milk path (24), wherein the breathable membrane (50) is a hydrophobic membrane. Further, the present invention relates to a breast pump (1).

Bone dust collection cap and plunger assembly
A surgical collection assembly for filtering material from liquid obtained during surgery has a distal plunger plate that is used to compress collected material that is filtered from liquid and entrained materials gathered during surgery. The distal plunger plate needs to be maintained above the collection jar inlet during collection of the liquid and entrained material. This disclosure teaches several ways to reversibly retain the distal plunger plate above the collection jar inlet. Also taught is a drape clamp that can affix the assembly and related tubing to a drape.
