A vehicle side door opening/closing device includes a motor, a gear case to which the motor is fixed and which is fixed to a side door, a speed reducer built in the gear case, an output gear provided to the speed reducer, a rack of which an end portion is pivotably supported to a vehicle body and which is provided with a rack gear, and an engagement holding unit connected with the gear case and movably supporting the rack while constantly keeping an engagement allowance between the rack and the output gear. The side door is moved in an opening direction by pushing the rack and in a closing direction by pulling the rack respectively following the rotation of the output gear. The engagement holding unit rotates around a rotation center of the output gear by a swing of the rack following the opening/closing operation of the side door.

A stowage bin assembly is configured to be disposed within an interior cabin of a vehicle. The stowage bin assembly includes a strongback, and a pivot bin moveably coupled to the strongback. The pivot bin is configured to be moved between an open position and a closed position. A bin drive system is configured to move the pivot bin from the open position to the closed position. The bin drive system includes a motor operatively coupled to a bin actuator through a motion link. The motor is configured move the bin actuator via the motion link to push the pivot bin from the open position to the closed position.

Door closer casings

An example door closer includes a casing and a pinion rotatably mounted to the casing. The pinion is operable to rotate through a plurality of movement zones, and the door closer is configured to exert forces on the pinion as the pinion moves through the plurality of movement zones. The door closer further includes a plurality of adjustment mechanisms, each operable to adjust the force exerted on the pinion as the pinion travels through a corresponding movement zone. The casing is provided with indicia that correlate each of the adjustment mechanisms to the corresponding movement zone.

Braking device

A braking device for a movable door wing comprises an electric motor operated as a generator with a motor shaft which is rotatable by a movement of the door wing and which expends motion-dependent motor voltage at a contact pair, as well as a braking circuit upon which the motor voltage is applied or applicable and via which, the contact pair is short-circuitable in order to dampen a movement of the door wing. It is provided that the braking circuit comprises two anti-serially arranged field-effect transistors wherein their drain terminals are connected each to another contact of the contact pair and wherein their source terminals are connected to each other and preferably also connected to earth or a zero line, so that the contact pair is short-circuited depending on the switching state of the field effect transistors. Alternatively or in addition to such a design of the braking circuit, provision is made that the electric motor is designed as a brushless electric motor with a plurality of stator coils, in each of which an AC voltage is induced as a function of the movement of the door wing, and that one of the AC voltages induced in the stator coils is outputted at the contact pair. The braking circuit comprises a partial braking circuit to which the alternating voltage output on the contact pair is applied or can be applied and via which, the contact pair can be short-circuited.

DRIVE MECHANISM FOR IMPARTING MOVEMENTS TO A DOOR

A drive mechanism for imparting movements to a door which pivots about a generally vertical axis between open and closed positions. The drive mechanism includes a frame, a power source mounted on the frame or positively driving an output shaft of the drive mechanism and thus, moving the door from a closed position toward an open position. The drive mechanism also includes an output shaft mounted for rotation about a fixed axis disposed generally parallel to a fixed axis of a power source drive shaft. A drive train including a plurality of intermeshing gear sets is arranged between the power source drive shaft and the output shaft. At least one gear set in the drive train includes a clutch mechanism selectively operable in either an engaged condition or a disengaged condition. When in a disengaged condition, the clutch mechanism operably transfers rotational movements of the power source to the output shaft so as to forcibly open the door. When operated in an engaged condition, the clutch mechanism operationally disconnect the power source and at least one gear set from the drive train thereby minimizing the manual effort required to open the door.

An adjustable and selectively operable coupling is disposed between the free-end of the output shaft of the driver and the linkage. The adjustable coupling has a pair of coaxially spaced and adjustable interfaces. A first adjustable interface is defined between the free-end of the output shaft and the coupling while a second adjustable interface is defined between the coupling and the linkage whereby allowing for a high resolution, angular adjustment of the position of the door.
