Dressing With Integrated Pump And Releasably Coupled Pump Actuator
A dressing for treating a tissue site with negative pressure including a tissue interface, a cover, a chamber wall, and a base. The cover may be adapted to be sealed to epidermis proximate the tissue site. The chamber wall may define a pump chamber, wherein the pump chamber may be adapted to be fluidly coupled to the tissue interface. The base may extend from the chamber wall, wherein the base may be fluidly sealed to the cover. The dressing may include an intake valve and an exhaust valve fluidly coupled to the pump chamber. The pump chamber may be compressed to evacuate fluid from the pump chamber through the exhaust valve. The pump chamber may then be expanded to draw′ fluid through the intake valve from the tissue interface. This supplies a negative pressure to the tissue interface which may be adapted to distribute negative pressure across the tissue site.
Pump And Releasably Coupled Pump Actuator
An apparatus for treating a tissue site with negative pressure having a pump and a pump actuator. The pump may include a chamber wall that may define a pump chamber. The pump actuator may include a mechanism to actuate the pump. The pump actuator may be releasably coupled to the pump. In some examples, the chamber wall may include a drive surface and the pump actuator may include a cylindrical cam having a working surface configured to engage with the drive surface of the pump. In some examples, the pump actuator may have an actuator arm configured to couple to the pump to actuate the pump. Actuation of the pump may create a negative pressure in the pump chamber that may be delivered to a tissue site.
Pressure control unit for an ophthalmic surgical system
Pressure control unit for an ophthalmic irrigation/aspiration system having a chamber with an upper part for storing air and a lower part for storing a surgical fluid to be irrigated or aspirated, the pressure control unit including a negative pressure source, a positive pressure source and an adjustable valve arrangement. The adjustable valve arrangement includes a vacuum port connected to the negative pressure source and a pressure port connected to the positive pressure source. The adjustable valve arrangement also includes a main port in controllable fluid communication with the vacuum port and the pressure port and the main port is connected to an upper part of the chamber.
VACUUM PUMP
A vacuum pump includes a hollow container that has a vacuum port and internal chamber walls. The vacuum port opens to an exterior of the container and the chamber walls define chambers that are in fluid communication with the vacuum port. There are flexible bladders disposed in the chambers. The flexible bladders include vents that open through the container to the exterior. A plunger in the container includes arms that extend into the chambers such that each of the flexible bladders is situated between one of the arms and one of the chamber walls. The plunger is moveable between a home position and an upstroke position to compress and deflate the flexible bladders via the vents and thereby change the volume of the flexible bladders. The change in the volume draws a vacuum through the vacuum port.
Negative pressure wound treatment system and method
A negative pressure wound treatment system comprising a bandage portion and a negative pressure portion. The bandage portion includes a dressing portion in contact with a wound and a sealing layer positioned in contact with the dressing portion. The sealing layer includes an adhesive creating a seal around the wound. The negative pressure portion is in fluid communication with the bandage portion and includes a first valve and a second valve. The first valve is in fluid communication with the bandage portion and the negative pressure portion. The second valve is in fluid communication with the negative pressure portion and the surrounding environment. The negative pressure wound treatment system is configured to provide negative pressure to an area sealed by the bandage portion upon the actuation of the negative pressure portion. The negative pressure portion is configured to be actuated by compressing the negative pressure portion while walking.
HAND ACTUATED SUCTION AND IRRIGATION DEVICE
A hand actuated suction and irrigation device enables the clinician to selectively provide suction or irrigation at a surgical site. In particular, the suction and irrigation device enables the clinician to control the amount of suction or irrigation provided at the surgical site through an ergonomically designed handle assembly. A clinician may selectively choose the suction or irrigation setting on the device by manipulating the first and second valve assemblies on opposing sides of a pump.
Wound drain with fluid management
A treatment system for applying negative pressure to a tissue site in conjunction with a venting or purging capability. In some embodiments, the treatment system may include a reduced-pressure source, an inline storage pouch, a purge chamber, and a dressing. Reduced-pressure may be supplied to the inline storage pouch and the dressing, while the purge chamber may provide a ventilation opening to the atmosphere.
Reduced-pressure treatment systems and methods employing a fluidly isolated pump control unit
Systems, devices, and methods for treating a tissue site on a patient with reduced pressure are presented. In one instance, a reduced-pressure treatment device to treat a tissue site with reduced pressure may include a pump control unit fluidly separate from a collection unit. Pump energy may be provided by the pump control unit to deflect one or more diaphragms within the collection unit to create reduced pressure. Other systems, devices, and methods are presented.
